the matrix had the potential to be the next star wars.
I just discount the two sequels and consider The Matrix as a great stand alone action flick.

very good series. The last one may have been a little over the top but the war scene with the mech suits made it even more climactic
I think the first two were great. The first being a great sci-fi film and the second being a great action film. The third one is shaky because you can tell that the writers and directors had a hard time tying all the sub plots together while maintaining the philosophical undertones of the film in a way that made sense to the audience. The first film is a coming of age film, the second is a savior film, and the third is a resurrection film.
