That doesn't even bug me that much. It's Luke Skywalker, the Odysseus of modern American mythology, attempting to kill a boy in his sleep that just pisses me off.

Worse than That. Rey is a Palpatine. Future Skywalkers are Palpatines. Which means Palpatine won IMO. Usurped the Skywalker lineage.

That doesn't actually bother me, its the "Light" side winning over the "Dark" side by turning them.

What bothers me is the whole idea that "The Force Awakens".
So, what, the FORCE was just asleep for 30 years, and "wakes" up in the form of a so-called "Mary Sue" type character?

I'm realizing that the when JJ or whoever came up with that , the "Force" represented the positive nostalgic memories of the casual fan. They're basically telling us "remember Star Wars from your childhood", Mr. Casual Fan? That you forgot all about after the prequels that you heard that nerds hated? We'll we're bringing back those warm an fuzzy feelings now!


Thing is, someone like Dave Filoni never FORGOT to begin with. So The Mandalorian was written by and for people that didn't need the force to "Awake" because it was still alive the whole time. That's how you build NEW fans.
