I actually think the show would have been BETTER if they didn't have to tie into the sequels. For example, we know the "New Republic" has no future, and that Luke's new Jedi class has no future. So a lot of potential plot lines are pointless because they are dead ends.
Is there any possibility they just retcon 7-9 and make the new trilogy a brand new 7-9?

might sound like a dumb question. But just like “hey we know we fukked up. We’re just gonna do it over. The 7-9 you saw isn’t canon anymore.”

I’m guessing there’s almost no chance, but is it possible if Kathleen Kennedy isn’t in charge?

I thought Gideon was pretty dope but I didn’t understand why he was dressing up as a knockoff Vader when he was just an empire guy and had no connections to the Sith (unless there’s plans for that in season 3)
That was the issue I had with him. The way they built him up over the season with the vader suit and black sword I'm thinking that he's "that dude" for reals. Him getting dealt with by Mando, rather easily I might add, was disappointing from a character build up perspective imo. Similar to that of the The Night King in GOT

My biggest problem with Moff Gideon was his actor. He's a good actor but way too :flabbynsick: for the role. They got this 60+ year old man talking tough like he can beat members of the 2nd strongest race in the lore in a physical fight :mjlol:

The "move on from the skywalkers" stuff is straight :camby:

the problem is that the trilogy was supposed to close that skywalker era of star wars, but they fukked up so bad.

now their team need to do a repair job until it can move to another era. there's another 10 years worth of material and storylines, then they can move onto some ancient shyt like darth bane

they could do a plaguies movie, which would be :krs:

me personally, I'd say fukk it and make that trilogy luke's bad dream. they'd be better off just to write it off.
I saw a video where they had Sebastian Stan as Luke Skywalker. They can redo the Kathleen Kennedy tragedy by creating a story where Luke has other kids across the galaxy besides Kylo by Han and Leia. This would somewhat bring it back to cannon and then say that Kylo never died but became a knight of ren after nearly being murked. He later finds out that Luke has another son and daughter out there and they create a new storyline.

Less/better lighting made the red stand out.

That shot of the darkened end of the hallway and the red saber just comes on outta nowhere :banderas:
Same Cinematographer who did Rogue One works on Mando. It's just the dichotomy of Vader exuding fear and terror and Luke bringing hope and redemption. Of course the Vader scene is going to be more badass.

Man, this series is bringing back the Star Wars I grew up with!

And this scene (finally putting all the talk of Jango Fett not being a Mandalorian to rest)....:wow:

Din Djarin: (Approaching Boba Fett & Fennec Shand) This is all that survived....
(Shows them his beskar spear)

Boba Fett: (Instantly recognizing what the spear is made of) Beskar.

Din Djarin: (Nods yes)

Boba Fett: (Addressing Din) I want you to take a look at something....(Raises his left gauntlet & activates it's holographic data readout display)

Boba Fett: (Looking at the holographic data, which is written in Mando'a)
My chain code has been encoded in this armor for 25 years.
(Indicating hologram) See, this is me...Boba Fett.
(Points at one holographic symbol) This is my father, Jango Fett. (Looks up from display at Din Djarin)

Din Djarin: (Considering Boba's words, observing the display Boba has just shown him & hearing the name Jango Fett, Din immediately understands why this man has claimed the Mandalorian armor he is now wearing) Your father was a Foundling.

Boba Fett: Yes. (Deactivates the display) He even fought in the Mandalorian Civil Wars.

Din Djarin: Then that armor belongs to you.

Boba Fett: (Nods yes) I appreciate it's return....

It feels like I have waited an eternity for this!!!!

As a long-time fan of the Mando'ade (Mandalorians) and a big fan of this show, it was so satisfying to watch this episode & witness the above-referenced exchange between Din Djarin & Boba Fett.

To all of those involved in both this fantastic series & the official return of Boba Fett: Thank you!

Really liked this scene with Boba explaining why he's claiming his pop's Mandalorian armor....

Also liked the attention to detail displayed here....someone did a rough translation of what was shown in Boba's hologram.
(The data is written in Mando'a, the language used by the Mandalorians).
