Luke fukking Skywalker?!! 
I guess I’ll be in the dissenting minority but I think a breh said it earlier in this thread but you got a whole galaxy of characters to draw off of and yet we keep exploring these same ole same oles. Could have brought in some new Jedi blood but I guess this the money play.
Anyway I’m wondering where they’re going with this and especially with Yung Gu. Since the Empire/First Order/Final Order apparently hasn’t died out then the Jedi’s can’t die out either which means someone has to restart the Jedi council back up. With the last trilogy we see a failed Luke trying to restart it up but what if Grogu was sent out to find more Jedi candidates and do just that after his training was finished. Maybe he was handed off to a different Master and that’s why Luke didn’t mention him is RoS. Just spitballing cuz I sure hope to hell they didn’t just show him for fan service.

Luke IS the lineage of the Jedi. The others are outcasts or strays who didn't complete their training like Ahsoka or Ezra. It makes total sense that he would be the one to pick up on Yung Yoda calling out with the force.

I don't hate Rian for the start of what they tried to pull off. But midway through Ep 8 you could tell the project was just too big and they lacked real definitive vision/planning. They tried to run the Star Wars franchise like a Korean drama where they literally write the next episode based on reactions based on the previous episode's feedback. You DO know this series takes place 5 years after “Return Of The Jedi.” I mean it would KINDA make sense to bring in Ezra (from “Rebels”) but some fans wouldn’t have recognized him.
Luke was THE ONLY option since he is the only Jedi left and is still trying to get his academy together. Hell...Leia is probably pregnant with Kyro at this point.
