LOL at this doofus, roth/qt's name being attached this as "presenters" can only take it so far. The white populace who are the main contributors to ticket sales are the ones that need to be coerced they aint going to be flock to see a brotha, whitey and a bunch of flying asians.Or a gumby looking unknown motherfuker (trying to be a a shaolin) as lead.MJW at least has the skill and looks badazz, derek luke can act and has screen presence rza has non of those things, which is why his selfishness to put himself in the lead might blow up in his face.

Doofus? Are you 12?

First off, MJW and Derek Luke have zero box-office clout to carry a movie. You're acting like they're Will Smith or some shyt....like people will flock to go see this based on name recognition alone.

RZA being the lead has the potential to cross-over into the Wu-Tang fanbase. The two guys you mentioned have no such fanbase to tap into.

And martial arts movies just like this were making money before QT even had a career, featuring (at the time) virtually unknown actors. If you aren't knowledgeable enough to know this, which you obviously aren't, I dunno why you're commenting on it.

I never said they had box office clout, learn to read.I said they unlike rza can lead without looking misplaced or amateur for the simple fact they've done it before. This flick needs everything working in its favour if rza ends up coming off like Hector Echavarria thats all movie goers need to pass.

This isnt a live action wutang musical littered with cameos. Its the brainchild of one wutang member. To think every wutang fan is going to suddenly flock to see this is silly,..And even if they were thats a pretty stupid business model to build your film around the loyalty of a fanbase thats since cease. This movie would be cult status at best

And? in all those kungfu flix they had a full blown chinese cast with "agile" chinese "actors" that knew martial arts. The cinemagoer knew what they were getting into. This flick is a whole different kettle of fish, rza is not an actor, does not look badass, is not agile and has never been seen in a fight on screen. He could easily throw punches like dmx in exit wounds for all we know.To place him in the lead that could be problematic given all those factors coupled with the fact hes black.Whether we like it or not a black lead has to have something and what rza has is just good music production

This could easily be an ensemble piece where 4-7 characters get equal shine so its really a moot point
:snoop:

Rza should be the damn lead its like i kind of stated in the ODB movie thread what the game needs is a new change of pace, I see the odb flick being a mix of a shaw brothers flick and urban comedy, mixed in with the use of odbs music like how they did william shaekespeares romeo and juliet they didnt get a orchestrator like john williams to do the soundtrack they got a dude who produced radiohead and bjork albums to score the thing, the scene with "When Doves Cry" used as a church sermon was epic
