I'm green to the online business but i'm finally ready to make the leap. I do got a couple questions though.

For those of you selling on Amazon using FBA. Do you essentially buy the product in bulk from wherever (fatwallet, etc) and then, upon receiving the product, ship it to the amazon warehouse via UPS/post office/etc? You don't repackage it do you?

I imagine you can't just buy it from wherever and have them ship it to the amazon warehouse? I was wondering if it could equate to drop shipping where you never have to see the product but i guess the Amazon/FBA is a different animal?

Also, I did individual account for now (the professional/business is 39.99 a month) and they recommend the individual if you want to sell more than 40 items a month (iirc). So I was wondering what "happens" if you sell more (or a lot more) than 40 items but you're on that individual account?
I dont buy in bulk yet. I go to very places and buy products and then i send them into amazon. I don't repackage majority of my items. I simply add them to a shipment, stick a label on them. Box them up and then ship to amazon.

Some items might need to be repackage or put in a poly bag. Like clothes and shoes. Used electronics need to be bubble wrapped and sometimes put in a box for protection. Amazon will usually tell if the item needs to be repackaged.

How/when do you find out what amazon warehouse address to send your product to? Say i find a product, i buy it, i receive it in the mail and now I want to send it to Amazon.. do i have first to put in information about it in my seller account and then based on my info amazon gives me an address location?

Also, do I have to upload a picture/thumbnail of the product as well?

After you get your product, you enter all of the price and quantity information into Amazon's system. After you are finished creating that particular shipment, amazon will have give you a choice to label your items or have them do it, which is 30 cents per item. Then they will let you know where you will send your items.

If there is already a listing for the product that you want to sell, then you dont have to upload a picture of your product. Some people add a picture of their item if they are selling it used or if there is an issue with the product. I never have done it and its a waste of time if you are selling new items with no flaws

Nothing. They just play games with paying you. They're set to pay weekly but every so often your balance will be "unavailable" for some weeks on free accounts.

Appreciate that!

Didn't even realize I made a type-o, I meant to say "they recommend the individual account if you plan to sell less than 40 items a month" but you understood what i was trying to say.

So pretty much there's no reason to pay that 39.99 even if you have a LLC/small business, because the worse they'll do is troll you with technical difficulties. Which is still some hoe shyt but i'm a long ways of way from having to deal with that anyway. Literally just getting started.

Another question bro,

When i'm putting information about my product and they ask for that product ID to be inputted.. i did some research and heard about the whole UPC barcode thing (e.g., either pay the 250 to get it at GS1 or buy at ebay for cheap and hope Amazon don't tag you)... but what if i bought a product from dhgate or any other wholesaler supply and the packaged product they shipped to me has it's own UPC barcode, can I just use that barcode or nah?

Are you doing private label? Or regular retail/online buying and then selling?

Im not an expert, but i think the only time that you need to that information is if you are adding your own private label product or entering a product thats not in Amazon's database yet. Also, the only time you have to purchase a upc is if you are doing private label

I could be wrong though. I have not done private label or created a new ad on Amazon. I only sell products that are already in Amazon's database and i don't enter the upc. I only enter my price, quantity, condition of my item and if i want to merchant fulfill or do fba

I finally got an Amazon Merch approval. I know yall are probably tired of talking about it because I applied when yall were giving advice on it probably more than a month ago but do yall have any advice for a newcomer who's inexperienced?

Watch YouTube videos on merch

If you are on facebook, join the merch by amazon groups and read, read, read

Use trademarkia and uspto to make sure your shirt, title, description and bullet points are not trademarked.

Do not use famous people (other than politicians), songs, sports, or any product brand name on your shirt or description.

Consider hiring a designer if you don't have the time to design or you're inexperienced. Fiverr and upwords are a couple sites to find some. They also have some design services on facebook. But be careful when picking one.

Wordswag app, gimp.org, and merchdesigner.com are a few cheap and free design programs that you can use.

Need shirt ideas? Trending topics that aren't trademarked. All holidays except Labor day and independence day (you have to be careful with this one).

Pinterest, facebook, walmart and other stores are good sources of inspiration.

Use thesaurus.com when you are writing the bullets and descriptions. You want to make sure that you are using multiple similar words to describe you shirt.

Do not steal designs. If you see a design you like, alter it and put your own spin on it

Get started asap
