im thinking ads because i have experience and relationships with several of the biggest advertising companies available. we could also charge for banner space and charge independent artists a small fee to be on the site

To all members who want to write with us: This site will need you to write everyday, at least 5 articles to start with, maybe less. You will have to be selective about what you write about, because we dont need another bullshyt blog like sohh.
Writing is key because thats how we will draw traffic to the site, that and videos/contests. So before you volunteer or sign up to write, just understand that this will be an everyday thing at first till we build a following, then we can take weekends off. Ideally id like to have 2 or 3 people writing, one or two people for the morning shift (8 to 3) and somebody for the night shift (5 - 10)
From the responses i got i think the blog should be:
Sports - cus nikkas love sports. We can cover NBA,NFL,Boxing,MLB, and whatever sport yall care about
Music - This should be self explanatory
Movie reviews/Custom youtube vids made just for the site - This could be a great way to get free shyt such as movie tickets, and get a strong following for people who actually want real reviews, and not politically correct bullshyt
Cars - Im thinking high end shyt, no one wants to read about how good the MPG is in the latest civic.
Events - we can cover all the hottest events going down in our respective cities, such as whos going to be at the club, to what concert is in town. We can build up a following and be the go to blog for the hottest events happening in our cities, and then we can charge clubs and promoters to promote their shyt on the site.

Another Thing:
When it comes to writing for this new blog, you gotta be able to write 300 to 500 word articles quickly, under 30 minutes per article. If you used wordpress and are good at adding pics and tags, then thats an added plus. If you cant then i dont mind adding pics and tags.
We need people to fill in these writing time slots:
8am - 12pm EST (At least 5 articles, or one for each category)
12pm - 4pm EST (5 as well, or one for each category)
5pm - 10pm EST (5 or one for each category)
So 15 articles a day for 7 days will give us 105 articles a week. In one month we will have 420 articles, and this will really help draw people in and increase organic traffic to the site. Articles are our bread and butter, and the better the article, the more time people will spend on the blog, which means more money. At 15 articles a day, thats 1,260 articles in 3 months, which means 1,260 pages someone could possibly land on and become a fan.
15 is the bare minimum though, so if you wanna write more, youll only be helping the team reach our goal faster, and that hard work won't go unnoticed. Also before you are approved for writing, you have to write a 300-500 word article from a link Irish or I will send you in less than 30 minutes. We need to be sure that you can create content effectively and quickly before we trust you with publishing for the site.

Simple. Make an ecommerce site, market it, promote it, FEAST
But you have to understand something: theres literally thousands of websites and ebay sellers selling that exact same product, so your battle will be won and lost on marketing and seo. Also the way your site looks plays a big factor in it. If your serious about your biz, id holla at my boy irish, he'll take care of you.
As far as topics to write about, thats a trade secret. But its so simple its complicated
i can write as long am interested in the topic , although i think finding 3 steady people to write 5 (300-500) articles per day might be tough, especially work on those time frames, but i would try my best

Yea i agree with newark... i don't even think writing the articles will be so tough. the tough part will be the writing guidelines. are we supposed to fake it til we make it? for example you send us a topic like "the new Ferrari". so do we write like we seen and driven the car based on already existing articles?

We can shorten up the writng to 150-300 word articles, but we cant go lower than 150 words because google wont index the article the right way. And yes Newmark your a good writer.

is there any money in writing product reviews for amazon articles? i buys tons of stuff there all the time, always satisfied with it but never really seen the point in writing those long reviews ppl write, is there a away of us Incorporated something like that into the mix? seeing as amazon gets millions of hits
