The whole "float like a butterfly, sting like a bee" dancing style that most people credit Ali for (and rightfully so because he perfected it) was something Robinson created.
Sugar Ray fought mostly sluggers too, while they were not high level boxers like a Mayweather they had good chins and could take a serious beating.

Its kind of similar to the old school "greats" like russell & wilt..they dominated due to the lack of black ballers in that era
the best overall era of boxing was in the 80's(the 70's was the best for heavyweights) and we didn't see any truly great white boxers at the time, and Larry Bird & Stockton were the last great white american hope of the 80's as well..
