There's no proof of this... Just assumption that aren't based on anything

.

not denying its tougher now to save and buy a house

but these people born in the 50's and such did value saving more when they wanted to get married and start a family. The children of the boomers were spoiled by these same people...therefore turning the y generation into spoenders at all costs. Stop making excuses.

Have to agree here. There are a lot of costs..... and prices of goods and services have grown at a faster rate than salaries have. If you live in a major city with a high cost of living and aren't leaching from the government, things are tight for the average person. Hell, they're tight for people that actually make good money.

So...we work a shyt load more than we used to....and have more debt. This is the North American way.

So with you saying things are tight for the average person, wouldnt/shouldnt saving be even more crucial? Even with things being tight people are out here splurging who dont have anything saved up for one of those "Life" moments

I only make ~$50000/year, but because I am single and childless, it feels like I am making $100000/year...

Plus I don't give a sh_t about fancy clothes or cars...

I spend most of my money on high quality food and building my home recording studio...

Being an introverted assh_le with very little time for anybody but the self, certainly has it's financial advantages...

I killed my social life for a few months last year. I was racked up, but I was miserable as shyt.

Eventually I caved in to going out again.

Sure missing random parties and club nights was nothing, but then I was missing birthdays and once-in-a-lifetime things.

It's a tough call. My solution is to start investing my time and money into building a job for myself that will let me live that kinda life with no worries

I feel you the only thing is a job usually going to make that kind of money depending on how hard you like to party. I got a few single dudes that go out damn near every night but they are all childless and making good money.
