So you remember Austin, Rock and Foley all having their best matches of that era with Kang

I remember HHH being at best the 5th most important person of the Attitude Era, which may even be a stretch if you include women and tag teams.

1. Austin
2. Kang/Rock
4. Foley
5. HBGOAT (started the era)

1)Austin
2)Rock (could actually place him along side Austin)
3)Mankind
4)Shawn Michaels
5)Undertaker
6)Kane
7)Hardyz
8)Chyna
9)New Age Outlaws
10)HHH

Don't even put HHH on equal footing with the Rock, nor have him close to Austin. HHH himself would tell you that isn't the truth, and he even mentioned that he knows he would get looked at differently down the line when comes to being compared to other stars on one of his DVDs. For a guy deadset on the whole "casuals" and "smarks" thing, you'd think it would be common sense to you that HHH is one of the very last guys who casuals think of when wrestling is mentioned, and definitely everyone else who follows wrestling. HHH was never equal with Austin nor Rock, and was getting out-popped by other people he was associated with. You and a bunch of others have let HHH constantly being on TV and associated with NXT mask his actual standing in wrestling when it comes to legendary status. He's on no ones Mt. Rushmore of anything in wrestling.

You really think Owens and Zayn are equally over with the casuals (me) as they are with the smark indie crowd?
No, I'm actually agreeing with you that they're not. I'm saying the NXT feud was catered towards those smarks, so it worked, and that's also why it didn't work as well on the main roster.

Agreed, for what should be considered the the :flabbynsick:tude Era from '97 to '99. Chyna, Road Dogg, and X-Pac were wayyy more over than HHH back then.

The year 2000 was a whole different animal though and shouldn't be considered part of the :trash:itude Era when guys like Hardyz, Angle, Guerrero, Benoit, and Y2J helped the product stray away from 3 minute brawlfests. That's also when HHH became the #1 heel and crept into the top 5 spot that year, as far as importance on that roster goes, during the McMahon-Helmlsey Era.

Pretty much, but Attitude is late 96-right before the 1st Brand Extension, but that's another story. HHH was definitely the #1 heel at the time, and deservingly so, but his importance has been elevated through revisionist history as time passes, just like how they revised the creation of the "Divas Revolution" to make it look like the Bellas Twins were the lynch-pin for it. HHH was only THE man when either guys went away (Rock, Austin, Foley), or when guys had clear ceilings placed over their heads (2002-2006, maybe 2007). He'll always be a tier below the 100% greats no many how much the WWE tries t convince people otherwise.

Kurt Angle had better matches with Rock & Austin in 01

HHH/Foley street fight is one of Foley's best wwf/e matches tho

and since both raw/sd are tv shows, obviously storylines and characters are the most important aspect of the show. No one was watching Breaking Bad because Bryan Cranston was teaching people how to make meth every week (although that in itself does sound entertaining), it was because of interesting characters and engaging storylines. wwe doesn't have those in abundance now a days

To bring in casuals they're gonna have to do some kind of fukkery match like Floyd vs Bigshow. Like they shoulda been reaching out to some of the main cast members from Walking Dead or something.

Rick Grimes VS The Undertaker... the dead don't stay dead in the wwe universe :lupe:
