Steady state cardio on an empty stomach isn't bad as long as you don't go with anything too strenuous if keeping muscle is the goal.

Most of what he said here makes sense

Those complete cookies are great, they've got a bit of a waxy aftertaste but overall they're dope

This is what stood out to me the most. I'm not going to pretend I'm an expert but I've never heard about doing morning workouts on an empty stomach being a good idea.:patrice:
I do that shyt all the time. Cardio heavy weight training just off water and a lil preworkout. I eat breakfast/ protein shake after

See, the way I understood it is that's exactly why you shouldn't do exercise on an empty stomach because if you start burning stored fats, your body will think that you need them and thus store more fats, which would be counterproductive.

Again, I'm no expert or anything but that's what I've been told.:hubie:

It's also muscle sparing if you aren't doing it at an intense pace. I've done it. Especially if you're trying to lose fat not weight.

I don't recommend it because I find it a miserable boring experience and get a better thermogenic response when I eat a very small meal before AM cardio.
