Aight.. for my week yall should check out Live/dead by The Grateful Dead. That's some straight to the point psychedelia. Uncut, 60s hippy shyt... no country/folk/bluegrass influence.

In 2 weeks, we've only had 2 reviews of any of the albums posted. I'm thinking this thread is a lost cause.

Listening to Loose Ends now. I remember hearing a few of these songs growing up in the 80s. Slow Down is still >>>> :lawd:. It endures. Not sure about the rest of the album though. Stay A Little While Child sounds really dated :sadcam: and that song used to be in heavy rotation.

Aren't we supposed to have a new album this week? :lupe:

Even if I don't get a chance to listen until later, it's still great to see what other people think is a dope album from the past. Let's not give up on the thread prematurely. @FrostBite , I know it is hard work trying to corral the troops. Let's help him out brehs.

 step up when it's your turn. @stealthbomber :sas2:

Thanks breh. I was out of town this weekend with pretty much no cell reception, so I couldn't send out a reminder. I definitely want to see this thread succeed, so we'll give it some more time.

You're up @OnlyInCalifornia

Can I just go now?

First and foremost he is a very slept on apart of the early rise of street rap in Los Angeles and this album he obviously went the G-Funk route as it was popular at the time (even tho he wasn't really a 'gangsta') Even though his most popular song is 'Battleram' which documents, at the time, the LAPD getting a fancy new toy to bust down doors of crack houses in LA and it's not on this album it is still a slept on album. He was the first rapper I can think of with a well known song really speaking on something of this nature.

He also touched on an issue between the Blacks and Mexicans back in Los Angeles about 20 years prior to it getting out of hand the last say 10 years or so talking about not fighting each other when the white man is trying to get them both / pit them against each other. Real dope song and concept. Crazy that it applies just the same now...
