They will be happy the debt is paid but still feel the same way about the other party. You are taking away one of their talking points but in the end, they may still say it took you to pay the other person's debt.

I had a ribeye last night too, cooked it to medium perfection, the perfect amount of pink it was one of the best steaks I've had in years
