The big threat is coming out of Europe.

Waiting to see what the Saudis/Arabs do after being shafted with the Credit Suisse rescue. They lost BILLIONS with that reckless move by the Swiss Government and UBS.

If the Saudis/Arabs decide they can no longer trust Western banks and decide to pull all of their monies out of them. It's game over and right quick.

NATO/Russia is next..NATO has 300k troops at Russia's borders. Poland has openly said that if Kiev falls then they're going into Ukraine, they also have set up personnel with HIMARS systems near Kaliningrad (mind you, HIMARS are OFFENSIVE weapons), Russia has set up S400 missile defense systems all around St Petersburg, Moscow and Sochi with some S500 systems sitting directly near the Kremlin. I need to state that those S400 and S500 systems are CAPABLE of knocking down our Minuteman ICBMs while in LOW ORBIT. China has these systems as well.

NATO is a 30 plus member organization..Russia is NOT GOING balls deep into Europe without it being softened up. They already said they will press the button on their nukes if NATO crosses the threshold. I don't understand what the fukk we're thinking with all of this. RUSSIA IS THE WORLD'S DOMINANT NUCLEAR POWER. ONE SARMAT MISSILE WITH AN MIRV WARHEAD CAN TAKE OUT PHILADELPHIA, NYC AND BOSTON..that's millions of casualties right there. Why do you think they've been putting up these videos and signs in NYC about what to do in a nuclear event since last year? They already know what they're going to do and what the response is going to be.

I have a young friend joining the Merchant Marine for domestic tug work and he wants to move down South. He will make about $45k starting out but be on a ship 6 months of the year so will save decent money if he is smart. Would Charlotte be a good place for him to live cost of living wise? He can live anywhere and fly in to his hitches.

He will make about $45k starting out but be on a ship 6 months of the year so will save decent money if he is smart. Would Charlotte be a good place for him to live cost of living wise? He can live anywhere and fly in to his hitches.

Charlotte has a bit gotten expensive.

45k for a single dude here will carry the day though..to be able to stay in a respectable neighborhood, minimum rent would be $1300. Go any lower and you gonna be looking at living in the hood in either West or East Charlotte or in Mexico City in South Charlotte or possibly in the suburbs around Concord or Kannapolis which I don't particularly care for. I get pulled over every fukking time I go into Concord.

I still have a home in Matthews, NC which is about 15 minutes outside of Charlotte. Very nice area, true suburbia. I'd recommend him looking around there for housing if he decides to come here. Only issue is that commuting into and from Charlotte can be a pain in goddamn ass with that traffic. The nightlife scene hasn't quite matured yet, COVID crushed most of the life of whatever scene we had here but it's slowly rebuilding so if he's into that, he'll be somewhat underwhelmed..a lot of decent places to hang out around in South End, University City and a few spots in Uptown.
