This is a book I want to read or listen to in the near future.
Some of the things I heard the author talking about in an interview were very interesting.
She gave one story of how Montgomery shut down their entire zoo cause of integration. They were like either its gonna be only white or nobody gets to see the animals. So in turn everyone suffers because of the racism.
She said the same thing happened with Montgomery and their fancy extravagant city swimming pools. They filled them up with dirt and paved over them so nobody could swim cause blacks were going to be able to swim.
I already knew that racism holds the entire country back (looks at southern states ) but i wanna see some examples and numbers and context.
The sad part is, it’s so ingrained into American society to hate black people and it gets passed on just like wealth we created for them does.
Those people that stormed the Capitol have that same Slave Master/Jim Crow energy and its all throughout every branch of government. No white person wants black people to get ahead, just be docile and get along enough to keep making America rich.

I don’t think it’s c00nish and certainly an ideal concept. The problem is, there are too many individuals that would need to reverse their entire way of thinking and belief system about black people for it to happen and I don’t feel it’s possible.Yeah the basis of the bok from my understanding is that if wealthy white people (politicians) stopped holding black people back it'd lift up the entire country and every one in it.
I know on the surface level it sounds kinda c00nish like "why we wanna help white folk too?" But white folks gon be ok regardless even the poor ones cause they still got white skin but black folk always get hardest by everything. So I'm interested in the book

I prefer being outside but I can’t do cold at all. I mean I could, it’s just more prep. Different clothing to invest in and stuff like that. Then my feet get cold and my anxiety turns the situation into hypothermia. Can’t tell me I’m not lost and stranded a mile from home.
You’re right though, better to get it now. I’ll try to narrow it down over the weekend. Biking sounds nice!!
