Just watched "the ripper" documentary on YouTube. About a serial killer in the UK from the 70s to the 80s. Good documentary.

Spoiler on feminism and the documentary
Something weird about it, was that they had part where they introduced feminism and how they misidentified the first victim because they wanted to stick to the code of his victims being prostitutes to shame women....

At the end of it the police were correct. He was going after prostitutes, and all the leads and theories they had were correct, the women didn't want the victims being labeled prostitutes.

They wanted them to be named "hard working single mom" and labels of that sort...but he was targeting prostitutes b!

Doing a zoom presentation on sex trafficking next month. Thought I’d drop a few items of note real quick.

Some of the techniques used by traffickers funnily enough are some of the same used in doing black bagging and military extractions for HVTs. For women, it’s always important to be mindful of your surroundings at all times. It’s may be hard to do especially now with our phones being major distractions but keeping your eyes up may help save your life. When you’re leaving a building, always scan your immediate area for anything that looks out of place, out of routine, etc..(I.E a man jogging in jeans.).

When you make your way towards your car..if you see anything on your hood or windshield such as money, a book, a piece of fruit, etc..) ignore it and proceed to get into your car. Traffickers do this to create a distraction, gain time and positioning to take you quickly. As you proceed to your car, scan around again and check your passenger car doors..a penny jammed in between your door handles will prevent the car door locks from operating correctly.. allowing a trafficker or even a thief to get in without resistance. Buy mace, a taser or a gotdamn pistol. If you have an iPhone allow trusted friends and family to have the ability to track just in case, I believe Android has this capability now as well.

In the event you encounter that distraction setup I mentioned earlier or you see a panel van that has no windows with visible security LOCKS on the side and back doors in your immediate vicinity then get in your car, drive the fukk off and DO NOT GO DIRECTLY HOME..go to your nearest police station and this will scare off anyone who might tail. If you’re going shopping, park as close to the entrance as possible and if you need to park in a parking garage, park as close to the exit/entrance points as possible.

I’m bringing this up because the number of missing black girls has shot up very high in the last couple months in an unusually high number of cities and of course, there’s very little media coverage.

To add to this...

Don’t use the same route all the time. This goes for jogging, coming home from work, doing errands. It’s good to switch up your plans so it’s hard to pin point.

Get a gun!!!!! A small pistol costs like $300 and isn’t hard to use.

Don’t be afraid to ask a coworker to walk you out to your car, preferably a larger male. Doesn’t mean you’re flirting, you’re just trying to get to your car safe. Never had any problems with male coworkers that did this for me. My husband encourages this since he can’t be there and it’s a logical thing to do.

if you do walk to your car alone, have your keys in between your fingers in one hand and your hand on your gun/mace on another hand.
PSA: mace doesn’t work on everyone

if you work at night, try to park under a street lamp. Back your car in for a quick getaway.

If your car allows it, crank it up before you get to the car.

put a “pro-gun” sticker on your car

Get home cameras and NEVER open the door to a frantic “neighbor” you don’t know. If they really need help, you can call 911 for them behind the closed door.

the most important thing is to change up your routine and not be predictable and thus food for these sickos

Source: 2 overprotective police parents and 1 crazy husband who thinks someone is gonna snatch me

Edit: oh yeah, if you not with a group of people , high heels will hinder your getaway. Keep some flats in your purse.

:beli: Don’t get too tipsy in public.

I’ve only gotten tore up around family (somebody will take me to their house) or at home:pachaha:...places I know ima be okay

Good on you..and kudos to your parents and hubby. My sister and ex think I’m overdoing it but I’ve been through too much with my background to play it safe. I remember I shared CCTV footage with someone on here of a woman getting straight up snatched out of a store and thrown in a trunk to prove my point. I don’t want y’all to be paranoid just vigilant.

80 dollars of deli ham, nikka bought all the ham

:picard:

They dumb for doing Christmas shopping through a third party..should know typical Xmas dinner staples might be in short supply. Thanksgiving and Xmas dinner shopping is where you have to go to war and bounce around grocery stores to get what you need.
