Is advice from someone who’s never done something even useful? My aunt was trying to discourage me from wanting to buy a house, like, worry about not getting evicted. Same for people trying to give relationship advice when they’ve never had anything close to one. How Sway?!
It depends on how long and/or well the person knows you. If your past decisions have been questionable or you've shown signs of instability, it may be more a word of caution than overall useless. I stay starting something, not finishing or just flat out failing. So I don't tell anyone anything anymore, I just do...or don't do. It's my business.
Advice in general is only going to be meaningful coming from a person you respect and opinion you value anyway. If you limit getting advice to those handful of people/resources, it's probably something you won't have to question again.
