I really hate this R.Kelly documentary. It’s really led to black men being the face of rape culture in the media which is another Scarlett letter us black men really don’t need.

I see some people say ( particularly black women) well if you are innocent why worry? But that’s such a naive view point since black men aren’t judge on an individual bases. Statistically speaking white men commit the most violent crimes (by percentages and numbers) yet us black men are the violent monsters labeled by society which translates to harsher prison sentences which trickles down to employment and education out comes.

Now black men are these oversexualized monsters who do nothing but sleep with underage children.

It’s like damn WTF?! Now my penis and my masculinity revolves around sexual abuse towards minors. And my blackness is now a two strike weapon built around anger and violence. This is so unfair.

Black men can’t say anything anymore without white men and women attacking our blackness ( they’ll use unfair criminal statistics perpetuated by their shytty crime laws) and black women will attack our masculinity as dangerous by highlighting societal abnormalities like R.Kelly. In all honesty I would rather have the small penis stereotype that Asian men have then to go through this. This is so demoralizing to have other people who are not you (non-black people and black women) craft your image and you have no way to counteract this. This society is so against black men I can see why depression and suicide rates are increasing. From cradle to grave it’s stereotype, stereotype and stereotype. BTW, I do think Kelly is guilty as fukk but now all black men are guilty? This has been a Salem witch hunt and we can’t even offer a defense because our judges already have the verdict in his/hers head.

I was going to make this a thread but im getting too depressed right now so I’m just ranting.

God bless you my brothers.

Until we come together and really put standards to things, nothing will change. They are attempting to hush the violence and abuse the US has implemented on us that is now being shown in media to some extent. The world is seeing that.
Kevin Hart attack after oscar was the first of it, we are going to see a bigger wave than just R Kelly this year.
We aren't even R Kelly consumers yet we are being blamed for why his still around, shyt is amazing. :russ:

Just look at how politics are creating a narrative. When trump gets reelected, the blame is going to be on us.

We just need to remember everyone who played a part in this war against us, and make sure they keep that same energy when time changes or they want to rid/be part of movements we create.

There is a clear brewing group of us black men and women who are not playing part in trying to throw ills at one another or doing it for society to see at large - move your focus to those who matter. Let those who use social platforms to feel important or heard to their own demise
