First 4th of July that I haven't had to work in years due to no longer working retail. I couldn't even tell you what I did last year but I likely worked. Anyways it's probably been one of the worst so far and the day is not even a third of the way done.
I come over to my friends house to go with them to the community pool. Them, their three kids, and their niece. Two things happened from bad to worst. First I'm laying face down on a pool float and my friends daughter and her cousin, they about 14 and 13, decide to play around and flip me off. I grab her cousins arm with my left hand to stop her. Then my niece, my friends daughter, flips me from the other side. Let's just say the pain was so severe that I yelled out "fukk" and was grabbing my arm for a few minutes. Still feeling it a bit. I think what happened is when I grabbed one of them, by getting flipped onto that arm, it either stained the muscle or something. Had to have been the shoulder cuz wasn't low enough for triceps. I could lift my arm and everything and I know nothing is broken or the shoulder is out of the socket, but that pull on the muscle hurt like hell. Likely put icy hot on it later if it still gets worse.
But that's not the worst part. My friends have two kids, boy and girl 3 and 2. They use these floaty things for the pool since they can't swim. The two year old boy decides to take his off. He there around the steps and we all carrying him. He goes outside the pool and I'm in there with his mom, and the two older girls. He's playing with a beachball outside with his sister. His dad is outside and tells them something about the ball and goes to the table to get something. I'm looking at some other people that were there and telling my homegirl something. She then asks, where's her son? I turn around and this kid is underwater.
I immediately grab him and get him up and hand him to his mom. He was ok, might've been under maybe less than a minute if that but it was still a scare especially at his age. Thank God we noticed in time. There was other people at the pool and nobody noticed. His mom was distraught and even crying a bit. He's all better now but still. I'm like damn if only I would've made him put his floaties back on, it wouldn't have happened. I should have been responsible enough for that. I've known my homegirl for over 11 years and consider her young kids like my godkids so to see my godson nearly drown like that was hurtful. So thankful we got him in time.
Be careful out there with young kids. Took our eyes off him for not even a minute and that happened. I gotta take some cpr class cuz you never know what could happen. I just been over here like damn

since it happened.
