growing up in NJ, its very clear that Italy has had an African influence in their culture especially Southern Italians
Gonna be so many casuals (fat people) there next month.Haven’t been to the gym in a month. I’m going to go next week and there’ll be a thousand people there
Ironically I have an Italian ass last name while being almost pure African(W.I tho) genetically.growing up in NJ, its very clear that Italy has had an African influence in their culture especially Southern Italians
in fact i just saw an Italian dude on the news whos last name was "Nigro"
it may come from a slave ownerIronically I have an Italian ass last name while being almost pure African(W.I tho) genetically.
There are a couple Italian families in Jersey and PA that has it but everyone else I know, has family that traces back to the Caribbean.
I wanna hold out and say it's a Moorish name
I use to think that but nah, wasn't no Italians slave owners in Dominica. British yeah, French maybe but Italian, nah. I believe through the Italian migration towards the end on the 19th century, they came to the eastern caribbean on their way to America. One of my great great great grandfather seems to be biracial and could of gotten it from his father he was named after because I find the same family in Jersey with the names. It's an extremely rare last name that only popped up in the western world around 1870s... at least by all the accounts I've found.it may come from a slave owner
its possible one of those Frenchies had an Italian background. my last name is British but its rare enough that i've only seen folks with a Jamaican background who have itI use to think that but nah, wasn't no Italians slave owners in Dominica.
