I made dinner for myself and two ladies tonight. shyt was lit. I feel really good and relaxed. I made hamburgers for the first time in my life and they weren't bad. They were a little dry and the grill marks didn't show because I dropped the ball on that. But the burgers were good. I also made a portabella mushroom burger for my other lady friend. They fukked them up pretty quickly so I know they were good.
My first burgers were not bad. I wouldn't pay for them so I've got a lot of work to do, but they were good and way better than home cooks. Also my first burger ever. I sliced the bread, the lettuce, the tomatoes, cheese, and the onions myself. I was pretty happy the knife work. The mark of a pro is in the knife skills I think. A real nikka only needs two knives for everything. The fact that I know where I messed up made me happy because it proves to me I know a lot about what I'm doing. I have to learn how to avoid and fix the bad shyt. That'll come with school and experience.
I haven't cooked for myself in months. I haven't cooked outside of work in months. And I haven't cooked for people I love in months either. There's some love flowing through my house now. I bought some new clothes today and hella bike parts. They'll be arriving tomorrow. I'm going to take tomorrow off and keep building love. I'm going to build a bike tomorrow and I'm already prepping what I'll make tomorrow from the left overs of today.
I feel better. I also reminded myself I am an exceptional cook when it comes to vegetables. It's what I learned to cook first and what I love to cook the most. Commercial kitchens deal with a lot of meat so I don't get to cook what I'm really good at. I haven't seen my best work in like a year. Tonight I got to see my best work. My vegetables were special tonight. When I interview for a cooking spot I always cook veggies because I always get the job when I cook veggies.
LMAO I am hella backwards. Most people learn to cook meat before veggies. I learned reverse, hahaha, I just made a hamburger for the first in my life. For my first time it wasn't bad at all. It wasn't pro, but it wasn't something a home cook could pull off. It didn't take me all fukking day either. Two hours top to bottom. That includes prep and clean up. I used a grill, a stove, and an oven. That's a lot of shyt. Mark of a pro is clean up and prep time.
