Young Thug ain't a street rapper?

21 ain't a street rapper?

Migo's ain't street rappers?
No

No

No

When I say gangsta rap I mean what was being produced in the 90's and early 2000's. Calling Thug, 21, and Migos "gangsta rap" is an insult:francis:

Then nikkas ain't making shyt close to an album such as Dogg Food:hhh:

All them nikkas you named are trash and part of the problem. They are novelty rappers, more pop artists than anything. I'd include them in the same boat as Yachty to be honest

Yatchy knows who Biggie is , you talking out your ass . He just doesn't put him in the same pedestal as 90's nikkas because he was born in fukking 97:mjlol: . Obviously no matter how hard he tries he is not going to be well versed in Biggies music:yeshrug: If anything Joe made himself look bad and shyt dude was being a whole bytch the interview :mjlol:........ It is a sad day in hip hop when we start to take opinions on druggie woman beaters seriously just because you hate that new nikkas are having fun and not taking themselves seriously :mjlol:...... Same mfs who was capping for KRS and AfrikkaBambata last year

Can one of the mods change this nikkas screen name?

Nah, I think younger people are less thirsty for bloody hood tales as a mark for a rapper's authenticity than previous generations.

Get used to artists like Logic, Cole, Kendrick, Gambino, Drake, Yachty, etc being what resonates with gen-z/millennial audiences more due to their relatability.

What I think happened is in the social media era these rappers can't put on a facade

Officer Ricky got exposed

Back in the 90s you could act like you were hard and no one would know because there was still that aura of mystery around all artists. That's long gone now.

All that hood shyt is still happening but the allure of it is gone to it's main consumer which are cacs.

Facts

I'm sure OG rap heads from the late 70's/80's didn't like the Big/Pac/Jay/Nas era

I see nothing wrong with young guys spreading positivity in their music.

OGs might've hated at first...but if u were a true fan of the culture...there is no way u could have hated on a Nas...a Jay..a Pac...etc. :comeon: How could OGs hate when rappers from their era (Rakims...KRS'...etc.) admired the up nd comin rappers because they studied those before them n advanced shyt....technically nd production-wise. The hate came from their shyt sounded outdated.:comeon: These young nggas now aint advancin shyt but the production.

Calling Thug, 21, and Migos "gangsta rap" is an insult:francis:

Cosign the DPG shyt...but I whole-heartedly think outside that sus shyt....:dame: Thugga is talented. He got his own style nd low-key bars. Migos too when they're on it like that. 21 is :trash: tho

What I think happened is in the social media era these rappers can't put on a facade

It's always been like this. People have always related to rappers that are popping when they're coming into their own. Plus, all those rappers with the exception of Yachty are lyricists.

KRS warned us about this back in 98 and today we have white media outlets dictating the culture

[KRS-One]
Check it out
True underground sound from the Boogie Down
Uptown Downtown gather round for the showdown, in they faces
Calling out these racists, at Rolling Stone
Spin Details and other places, KRS is The Source
fukk these magazine leadin hip-hop off course
You'll print about Black Mayors, Black Senators
Why you ain't got no Black Editors?
Everytime I do an interview in Rolling Stone
They sendin me a writer that look like he's Home Alone
Ignorant, to the culture and the microphone
This has got to stop -- your whole spot
Is blown sky high, battle why try?
My view is bird's eye, scopin with my third eye
You don't understand, why you're publically banned
Until you recognize the writing skills of a black man
Black Editor, all of us ain't thuggin
Gossiping over who's homosexual
Some of us are Black Intellectuals, up in Harlem World
You can't get with me, so now in Midtown
You wanna stop and talk to me?
bytch ass journalist, is this your fake hip-hop publication?
Look I'm burnin this

Im only 3 minutes in to the Lil Yachty and Budden interview.

Joe was just waiting to jump on the dude just because. Thats not fair. Its fuhked up.

I criticize these new dudes for their brand of rap, but its not my generation. I cant really hate.

My generation allowed people like Biz Markie and Ol Dirty to do unorthodox shyt without hate. So, I get the Yachty shyt.

when do we put blame on the people who introduced us to these artists? this is coach k's creation isn't it? dj drama gave us uzi vert. iggy azalea ... well, no comment.

we always blame the artist cause they are out in front :JordanThink:
Yachty is Coach K's nephew:yeshrug:

Yachty used his connection but he def made a wave of his own so:yeshrug:

But QC gave us Migos and Skippa so I ain't complaining
