These nikkas that worship the 90s really need to STFU about "Hip hop is for the streets, how dare these goofy suburban nikkas get in the game..."

When Hip Hop started as some goofy Disco inspired soft shyt....and stayed that way for a fukking while...

Until nikkas like Boogie Down Productions, Schoolly D, Ice T and NWA got in the game...

Early Hip Hop was basically an offshoot of Dance and Nu-Disco until other nikkas got in the game...and none of them nikkas that were in early was rapping about thug shyt...

This is Real Hip Hop Brehs....restore the feeling...:blessed:

Of course that wasn't considered the golden era....just the start of a beautiful thing. "Jam On It" was a classic tho. :sas2: That sweet disco era shyt u talkin about had to die off too because again....shyt wasnt sweet in the streets because of the crack epidemic...violence...etc. So obviously the music wouldve taken a more serious tone since it was hood commentary. I hear u tho. U want that Full Force back....:dame:

You think Pac had women taste in his mind when he made Thug Life and me Against the World ?

There is a reason why the biggest musicians and song writers are males.

Hip-Hop gave too much importance to women. Hip-Hop turned into a big Love and Hip-Hop, so you have this mess.

Uh...yeah any fukking artist...that wanna sell records, put women at the forefront...

Who the fukk goes to the concerts...

Who buys the records...

It ain't dudes...markets...especially entertainment markets...are ran by women.

If women don't like it, shyt ain't gonna sell....

Lol...no...I just think it's funny that nikkas wanna cry about fake ass mob stories and fake ass drug dealers...not being the stars of the game when the original Hip Hop creators were not gangsters and thugs...

So now the fake nikkas ain't in the game no more with their ducktales...nikkas that act like Hip Hop was this street thug music that started in the 90s gonna cry.

That 90s era was low key fukking corny for the most part.

nikkas naming themselves after Italian and Colombian crime bosses. nikkas acting like they sell 100s of kilos. nikkas acting like they got 30 bodies under their belt.

nikkas talking about G shyt just to sell records...like Tupac, Biggie and Nas...

shyt was corny as fukk and catered to White people's fantasy of what Black life really was like. And had rappers watching fukking Godfather and Scarface 100 times a day so they can make up more fukking ducktales.

That era was lowkey fukking wack and then the era after that was wack. Only thing them nikkas in the 90s could do is rap really well.

This era besides the obvious fake ass drug addicts like Future...got way more authenticity in it.

nikkas really clamoring for the era of the Fake Thugs and Wannabe Italian Mobsters and Colombian Drug Lords.

Hip hop has always been about riding a wave and moving onto the next.

If hip hop now sounded the same as it did 10 years ago. Something's wrong. Period.

Hip hop was also about the reflection of the times. The times have obviously changed so that means so will the subject matter.

And lastly I honestly can't see how anyone can complain about music in general at this current time. We live in an age where anyone and everyone can have a voice and put themselves out there to the world musically, be it youtube, souncloud etc. There will always be people making the exact type of music you love and its not very hard to find.

If you're sitting stuck up on who gets the most radio play or gets the most album sailes then you're already trapped in the 90s and early 00s.

Hip hop culture is nothing but a wave that's constantly evolving and your just hung up on the wave from 10 years ago. :yeshrug:

:jbhmm:.....Its already been proven these"fake ass drug dealers" were affiliated wit real street nggas or dabbled in the streets themselves. Fif (Supreme), Nas (Black Jus, Supreme Team, Jungle), Pac (H. Jack, Tut, etc.)...so on nd so forth....so why do cats keep floatin it out like all these nggas werent really in the streets? :patrice:Oh I know why :gladbron: suburban nggas so far removed from real life they cant fathom nggas bein in real situations..Theres levels to everything obviously...but all those rappers were affiliated at the least.

And if you want to draw a parallel to Yachty, Lil B is the first cat to openly identify with the gay shyt, although like others have pointed out Kanye pioneered the emo wave before that.
Kanye didn't pioneer any "emo" wave.
And labeling him as that is just incorrect.

He's a former backpack rapper who poorly straddled the line between having something to real to relate and bragging about the next big purchase.

He's now way more of the latter and less of the former.

Hiphop is in its faggofied shallow "hair metal" stage and im loving it. A culture that championed fashionable thugs who entertained alot of "closet play" ends up following the perversion into oblivion.

Thousands of genius black artist have been brushed aside by black culture to make way for degenerate bullshyt.

Yea, it's unfortunate. Popular music genres just evolve eventually...for better or worse. It may just be the old hip hop's time to fade out due in part to its success.

Sometimes we want the things we love to get the most recognition because of how great they are, and it ends up biting us in the ass.

This the type of shyt you hear from nikkas who just got home from doing a long ass bid. :mjlol: Why do us 80's babies have such selective memory? Us 80's babies believe there was a time in history when everything was in black and white like a grimey 90's video shot in the projects and colors did come out yet, everyone was wearing 8XL tees and everyone and their mother was selling crack and killing people and... it was cool. :dwillhuh: Get the fukk outta here with that shyt.

Nerd rap was heavy in the 90's too. This is what real killas in the 90's looked like :snoop:

Tribe-Called-Quest-NYC-1990%C2%A9JanetteBeckman-620x483.jpg

Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Pharcyde, Souls of Mischief... all "nerd" rap by the OP's definition. The Pharcyde made songs about getting curved by bytches for God's sake. De La Soul "Me, Myself and I" was a nerd anthem. If you are a real 80's baby born before 1985, you know that faking like you're gangster when you're not was not acceptable unlike today where all these fuccbois are tatted up and shyt acting like they from the trenches when they born and bred in the burbs. In the early 90's, the East didn't have any rappers spitting gangster shyt except Kool G Rap and like Russel Simmons said, "G Rap don't sell no records":russ:. Even KRS-One stopped spitting thug shyt after Scott La Rock died in 88'. The East Coast didn't start spitting thug shyt and street life tales until the very end of 93' when Black Moon and Wu-Tang came out. The only reason East Coast hardcore rap took off is because record execs in NYC saw that West Coast gangsta shyt was doing Barbara Streisand numbers.
