Millions of people unemployed, millions of people have lost their houses, and for a long time the left was saying the crash is coming, the crash is coming, the people will rise up. Well, the crash came, and some people rose up, but not in the kind of critical numbers that would have shaken or, as in the previous episode you said, terrified the elites. Why?

Because the traditional liberal elite divorced itself from the issue of justice to embrace for the last few decades issues such as gender equality, multiculturalism, identity politics, all of which I support. But while they busied themselves with these activities, the working class was being destroyed through NAFTA and the outsourcing of jobs, the stagnation, in essence reduction of the minimum wage.

Right. Well, these people, I mean, the heads of these unions pull down salaries that are five times what the rank and file pulls down. They negotiate deals, such as they did with the auto bailout, where their most senior unionized workers have their wages reduced and the auto companies are allowed to hire new workers at $14 an hour without benefits. So they sell out the younger workers to protect, to an extent, older workers. They have no kind of vision of what kind of a country they want to create, i.e. one that would actually respond to the needs of the working class. And, you know, I think they're pretty bankrupt. I mean, they have become part of the establishment. And rhetorically they can get up and say all the right things in the same way that Barack Obama can get up and say all the right things, but in the end, you know, it's Wall Street and the corporations that are pulling the strings on the puppets.
I talked to a behind-the-scenes organizer for the unions. He advises them on policy and things. And I asked him, why do you guys not contend for some kind of leadership of the Democratic Party? And his answer was: well, Wall Street is the only one--pro-Democratic Party Wall Street is the only one with enough cash to beat the Republicans, so we can't take them on.

until the ppl detach themselves from the 2 party system nothing can be done. corporations run america. they've bought the political system.

i wasnt here on this forum when 'the men who built america' was aired in the history channel. but the banker dude said it best.. "we'll just buy the politicians'. that's the political system in a nut shell.

ok the top are bought. now lets look at the bottom... the same corporations run the poor ppl too. ppl are fixated to TV watching nonsense. they running to mcdonalds eating bullsh1t. we here listen to bullsh1t criminal gangsta rap forced on us by the same corporations we hate.

so it's pretty hypocrital calling out the librawl or republican elite when most of us in their position would do the same thing.

who is "us", if by "us" you mean average americans over 25 with some education than yes it is bullshyt, if you have little education, or a teenager looking for a part time job you are competing directly with them, if they do have jobs its illegal and they should be fired and deported

I have a very huge problem the Democrat Party. Not only are our schools, hoods all in shambles ever since we solidified with them, now we can't even trust them to get us social justice...Trayvon Martin, Supreme Court overturning Sect 4 Voting Rights etc. What good is voting for a Democrat if they can't help you economically, or socially?

I guess I'll vote GOP then. They're all about looking out for the working class. :lupe:

What I would suggest is vote democratic but practice GOP tactics. This way you get the advantages of both sides.

This basically sums up your point.
Gotta love this song:smile: I could see our "leadership" bumping this...

I think the key is to understand that politics and economics are 2 different things, politics should be part of an economic plan, but it cant be THE economic plan

i would assert that the it doesnt really matter who you or we vote for, it matters what our economic plan is
