I do wonder how many tickets they'll move with the venue change. I read that they already offering 2 for 1s.

Both the Japanese and Australian shows ended up being as messy as they seemed when they were first announced

They had sold over 10K when they moved to the arena and that arena capacity is only 12-13K, and wrestling is obviously not going to be able to do max capacity, so I'm calling BS on that 2 for 1 thing.

But this whole situation just points out how poorly AEW understands communications. I used to work in it for over a decade. You can never assume people know anything. The second you start to do that is when your communication strategy starts to fail because everything you do is based on the assumption that people already do this and that. If people don't know this and that then how can we expect them to know or understand anything else that follows?

It's like skipping the first chapter in a book. You might be able to understand some of the stuff that follows but you're missing out on critical information that's going to be central to the entire story.

I think last I saw they were around 10K or something close to that so those 2 for 1s were mostly about trying to get those last 500 or so available tickets sold so they can claim a sellout, there weren't a ton of tickets left in general

Tony saw WWE pack over 50k in Perth with a completely half assed show and thought he could do the same thing. They aren’t even giving them Swerve vs Ricochet

Mox and White been circling each other for months. Should've been the match before they made that stupid fatal four. Mercedes and Harley have had some interactions as well, and Buddy vs Okada too.

Of course they gotta have the talent from that area featured to draw eyes. It's like going down to Mexico and not having people like Rush or Kommander on there.

Let's just see how things turn out and if some new stories come out for those involved after.

Those matches should’ve been made and announced a month ago. Show been on the schedule for all this time but forgot to build the challengers up with tv wins

There's been build for all three of those matches already...

Not saying it's been good or bad, but to say there's been no build yet is objectively false.

Meanwhile on an AEW discord I’m on all I said it was stupid how it won’t air live on Max and we have to wait 18 hours to see it because its unreasonable to expect your audience to stay off the internet all day to avoid spoilers

They just booted me from the Discord server and I hadn't even responded to them.

i agree with you. tho i wonder if they can build up a big enough heel to make the moment worth it. there's apparently a lot of hope for Darby so choosing the right opponent is important. the long length of time def hurt. they could give the belt to someone else but then maybe they'll go to a face and then a heel again before the darby match. Mox prolly the biggest heel they got considering everything and taking Darby title shot. they would have to find someone that can be as big a heel for that type of moment. unless they pivot and go back to darby in the future. who knows. hopefully things work out for the best.

It was dumb to try to run a big show in Australia when the market isn’t the same as the UK. If you’re not the E you’re not gonna make a splash outside countries that really love wrestling.

I mean, no one should be surprised it’s not a PPV because it hasn’t been booked like it, plus it does have Grand Slam in the title. It was also a bad move to book Staples weeks later. The show is almost a month away and even though the storylines are there, nothing has been announced besides Mox/Edge (). I think Take/Omega and Swerve/Rico will be on the card. Booking two shows within weeks in those cities isn’t ideal.

First real failure for AEW. Let’s see how the Texas show does and even the Staples show.
