TBH 40K across 2 nights for a couple events that were either headlined by young lions or badly promoted/advertised is kind of interesting. It's terrible for NJPW but WCW would have killed for that kind of business aside from 1998. Eric Bischoff loses again.

Okada said he was done with NJPW. Given he's been done with the company for less than a year and has an infant at home, probably taking time to be with them.

Moxley is AEW champ and you don't want to risk him getting hurt in Japan when you have him in a title match on the 15th.

Ospreay (and Okada for that matter) were involved in the C2, so it probably would have been in NJPW to come up with an opponent/angle for him, which didn't happen.
