AEW announced this event, they did not need to book it, specially this weekend and at the Dome. And as was discussed 3 months ago, he could've done a lot more than what he ended up doing. He basically put Omega there to save the show by himself. Kenny was step 1 out of many, not the only one

He doesn't promote half of his own shows and you expect him to place emphasis on this one?

At least all the performers went out and had great matches.... 'Wrestle Dynasty' was a lot better than 'Wrestle Kingdom' as a show..

They announced the event, ok, so what? We all knew this was gonna be mainly on the NJ side since it took place during WK weekend in Japan. We already seen 3 Forbidden Doors, which we all know is AEW’s side of pulling their weight to get people to watch a copromoted show. Why should TK be the main guy when it’s the other promotions time to put in the marketing for a show in Their yard?

Could he have done a little more? Sure. But you’re telling me a fan who only watches AEW was gonna buy a ticket and fly to Japan for the show? They were gonna buy a subscription to NJ World for one show at 11 PM on a weekend?

Breh, neither New Japan nor AEW needed Wrestle Dynasty to exist. Neither promotion gained anything from booking this show. My question from day one was "why would you do this" and after seeing what ended up happening I'm still confounded by both the call to book the show and the abysmal work everyone did to make the whole weekend a success.

I have called out New Japan for literally a decade and continue to do so in the puro thread. This is an AEW thread, therefore I'm using this one to call out AEW.

Well, Wrestle Dynasty bombed as expected (16k paid). I truly hope TK puts more effort in the Australian show. I know they scaled down to an arena instead of big a stadium, should've done the same for WD, they could've sold out Sumo Hall for sure and maybe even Budokan.

Stardom was non existent (even though they’re the best company out of all the promoted brands at this event)

And AEW did a horrible job at promoting the event for their own fans zero story & gave you no reason to watch

She’s not clicking, at all without the WWE machine behind her. Her matches have been mostly good, but the crowd is really not responding to her at all, and her promos are cringe.

She can have all the good matches she wants her booking is still god awful

She has no direction no memorable feuds elevated nobody the division is no different from when before she came

Her run is solely built on nepotism

That's fair, I just don't think TK will ever change unless he's forced to. He just throws a bunch of stuff out there for consumption and doesn't bother with the legwork at any level. Maybe he doesn't even have the time for the legwork but we've all said that for a couple years now and he's still doing whatever

It was an event in Japan with NJPW as the primary promotion, so this would be on them, even tho AEW should've put more of a light on the leadup.

Stat, Willow and Vaquer (even though she signed with WWE) are all bigger stars now from feuding with Mercedes. The women are also getting more air time. Stat and Willow's feud would not have played out on TV the way it did and had a PPV blowoff if not for Mercedes asking creative to put more emphasis on the women. It's clear Athena is coming soon as well.

It's not all a credit to Mercedes because Toni Storm did a lot of heavy lifting before she got there. But that's a different feud with her and Mariah.

There's no question they've built up a better division over this past year. The booking is still on TK. No single woman's wrestler (or man) runs creative. It's up to TK to elevate the brand.

you could say worse about Rhea. Other than Liv (who is going to lose the title soon) who has benefitted from the Rhea super push on RAW.

No body in that division has benefited a damn thing from Mercedes & it shows because nobody cares about the division
