@Jmare007 Stadium has a capacity of 40,000, not sure they will set it up for that depending on the staging. 10,000 out the gate seems ok with no card and it being several months away. I think 25,000 would look good on TV
In the context of a promotion that's struggling so much to sell tickets, 10k out of the gate for your biggest show ever in the U.S is aight I guess. But I have a very hard time picturing them being able to sell 10k more tickets unless they make a legit big effort promoting the show + getting *anything* that can garner some drawing power.

No matter how you look at it, they are gonna need to comp the fukk out of the show to make it look cool on TV. I'd be shocked if they are able to get enough momentum to sell 20k+ and even with that number they gonna need to give away a ton of tickets.

I think a lot of it just depends on what the story lines are heading into the thing. I don't expect much movement now until it gets closer to the show. We've seen recently where there's zero movement headed into PPVs and then the last two weeks they sell another ~3,000 tickets or so because that's when they start ramping up the hype and that's when they actually announce the card.

If 'ALL IN' is some combination of I dunno Will Ospreay vs. Kenny Omega or whatever that's a match that sells itself

For sure, there wont be much movement until late May most likely. But my point is, even if they manage to move double of what they already sold, it's still long ways to go before they can make it look cool on TV. And moving 10k tickets for a AEW after tickets went on sale is hard as fukk to do. Moving 3-5k wont really look like much in that setting.

And they will have to lower prices and give away a lot of tickets anyways.

They will make money though, regardless of how empty it ends up looking on TV.

I don't have a prediction for how many tickets they will sell or how many comps they'll have but if they are already at $1.5M in ticket sales I would think it will end up being a success even if it's just a moderate success...

Actually, I'd be surprised if it was more than a moderate success

good thing is its in dallas where they usually do well plus have a large population to draw from. not to mention the easy access it is from other locations for anyone that is traveling. its a quick flight from like houston or san antonio and even driving isn't that bad. does depend on how they build up the event, plus what they can do to make it appealing outside of the event. like if they have all in on saturday and then have an ROH show either friday or sunday, or maybe some of the indies would try to fit a show around it. even still Dallas is a major city with lots to do. there won't be any sports since they taking over the rangers stadium, not sure if they would have games earlier in the week, but guessing most travelers would just go for the weekend. and all the other 3 sports are in the offseason. but not like there's nothing to do elsewhere. summer break too so no school for kids either.

but def need to build the card up decently. they got the pieces to do so. what they should do is avoid any ppv between DON and AI. I think with Forbidden Door being in August it may be possible. Revolution mid March, something late April, DON late May, then AI mid July, gives them time to properly build every event.

Taken from the article:

"While WWE fans may be upset to see the AEW president at the top of Variety's list, don't worry. WWE is represented as well."

How crazy is it that Newsweek has to throw that line in there to avoid beardlash :pachaha:
