She didn't really look like a powerhouse. She was the same size as a lot of her opponents, and she didn't come off looking physically strong in her matches either. I don't know. Not everyone can take the ball, get over and be a star :ld:
I was more surprised that they hot shot Kamille up so quickly, that's someone you can build the women's division around in ROH, not so much in AEW unless you think she's the one.

They saw something in her and I think there's some potential in there somewhere but they gave her a chance and it just didn't work. Maybe after the repackage.

She has her flaws but they booked her as a joke right away. They needed to book her as a threat if you're going to bring her out as Mercedes muscle. They could have booked her like they're doing Marina right now. I know Marina has a legit fighting background but they could have done the same with Kamille.

She had squash matches when she debuted and she struggled in them. It's like I said before. She was called a brickhouse/powerhouse, but she was the same size as her opponents & didn't come off as physically strong. She has no charisma so she made zero connection with the audience. She's not good.

Yeah they didn't do a good job of hiding her flaws. She's needs work but making her out to be a joke isn't the way of doing it. In turn it makes Mercedes look incompetent. Marina isn't big or some special talent either but they're highlighting her strong points and hiding her flaws. I get you think she's terrible and I'm not changing your mind but they could have went at it different.

They literally gave her the same blueprint that got Wardlow, Jamie Hayter and to a lesser extent Marina Shafir over. The difference is those three have a lot more charisma/personality than Kamille. All three of them got themselves over as the sidekick/background character.

Breh, wtf were they supposed to do? Have her run through the division? She wasn't over. She wasn't good. She sucked.
People were hyped when the news of her signing hit and there was quite a bit of anticipation when she debuted. Creative ruined that in about a month because you have to book to highlight strengths and hide flaws. There was initially buzz and intrigue, they pissed it away and it's not wrong to point that out.

Mercedes :noah:delectable CEO

Kamille is her Diesel huh? Not bad

Bout damn time

I told y'all she was going to be her Diesel. I'm AEW's Nostradamus :hubie:

Kamille :ohhh:

The last good talent from NWA has been raided. Close that shyt, Corgan.

Sasha got a Diesel :leon:

Play it right and they got a chance to make this new chick a star................Hopefully goes better than Wardlow's run did after he turned :francis:
Diesel was never some wrestling marvel or mat technician. You book to the strengths, it's all presentation and they botched Kamille treating her like anyone else.

She didn't live up to the hype. Y'all can't blame everything on Tony Khan. There's a reason why WWE tried to make her go to NXT when they offered her a contract. She thought she was above it.

I haven't mentioned Tony, that's someone else you're arguing with breh.

It's just bad creative when you book a talent in a way that exposes their flaws. You knew what she was BEFORE you signed her, someone was scouting and watching footage to get her name on a contract so you can't then be surprised when you get exactly what you saw.

It's up to Creative to create the atmosphere for her to thrive, that's what NWA did. They booked her like Deonna in-ring or Awesome Kong as a powerhouse, knowing she lacks those skills. If she was that bad, why sign her?

It all falls back on the people making these decisions. Not everything is a targeted attack.

You're missing my point. I'm saying it's not solely creative's fault she didn't get over. From what I've seen of her, it's on her. She doesn't have the skillset/charisma/personality. But I agree that they shouldn't have signed her in the first place. That's their own fault for trying to get into a bidding war with free agents.
