That's the rumor. Not sure if that shockwave thing is true or dark coming back. They talking with Fox so we gotta wait and see if that amounts to anything.
AEW never wanted to get rid of Dark but they got paid so much to do Collision + exclusivity that it would have been stupid to pass up on it. I’m sure they’ll bring it back as soon as possible

Both AEW and WBD declined to share the financial details behind the deal. However, sources say it is a three-year deal with an option for a fourth year. The deal is estimated to be valued at $170M total including the rights fee and other elements. WBD also keeps its equity stake in AEW, but the size of it was not disclosed.

:jbhmm: interesting nugget from Sports Business Journal

SRS is saying that $150m doesn’t include library rights (other than what they’ll be streaming, obviously) and doesn’t include any PPV revenue.

Obviously it doesn’t include PPV sales revenue, so I took that to mean WBD isn’t paying AEW to host the PPVs, which I would assume means AEW would get a pretty nice split on the PPV sales revenue.

I can't imagine what information/content he could offer that would make it worth paying for his Patreon :pachaha:

I guess thats the only place you can get hard-cam shots of AEW shows since he told people to stop posting those on Twitter and DM them to him instead :mjlol:
I think dude posts more shows and gives more updates but that's about it :russ:

I subscribed at one point for a month or two and eventually came to the conclusion that all WrestleTix was really good for was unintentionally creating bad faith discourse.

Because it’s like okay these attendance numbers are great/awful/ok/acceptable, so what? Wrestling isn’t even a live events business these days, it’s a content business model that just happens to film in front of a live, paying audience.

Like WWE would be several hundred millions of dollars in debt if they tried to sustain the size of their business without the massive media deals they have.

AEW wouldn’t have lasted two years if it were dependent on gate revenue because of that whole pandemic thing eliminating live crowds or greatly artificially limiting the size of the crowds.

Sounds like a pretty good deal. Simulcasting on Max will open up the doors for more eyeballs on the product and that's especially true for the PPVs. Yes, they will be at a reduced price but there will be a lot more people with the availability now to purchase them and it sounds like AEW is getting a split of the PPV revenue.

I didn't see anything about 4K and Dolby Atmos but you would think they'd stream in the highest quality possible, like I said Max is already streaming sports in 4K at this point..

I wonder what they mean by the possibility of more shows. Is that this rumored 'Shockwave'?
