Started up Trails in the Sky FC again on my Vita, pretty hilarious how Estelle has more personalty in her littlefinger than garbage ass Rean. Writing and OST are far better than Cold Steel as well.

Dunno if/when I'll bother to play Cold Steel 4.

@winb83 - what's the difference between Hajimari and Kuro? Hajimari is a standalone, Kuro is a new story?

Once I finish Valkyria Chronicles in the next few days I will start this series. Planning on playing the Sky Trilogy, Trails to Zero & Trails to Azure before taking a break.

Hajimari is like an epilogue that couldn't fit in cs4, you get to play everyone in skies, azure, cold steel.
Can you please add trails to the sky to the thread, it's easier to know which game this is about.

Estelle > Rein by a long shot. Sorry, but the Cold Steel saga just felt bland and generic as hell to me. Too much obsession with soulless high school anime archetypes and cliches.

With Trails in the Sky series, you felt like you were seriously embarking on some grand adventure and shyt was epic. Also, the personality of the characters was just better and more intriguing.

Kuro is the next arc of the series. It’s takes place in Calvard. Hajimari is wrapping up loose ends of Cold Steel and the Crossbell games.

Estelle is probably my favorite JRPG protagonist of all time. I don't think they'll ever top her.

The order these series came out in also follows the quality. Cold Steel is like Nastradamus. It's not a bad album but you just know the artist can do better. Cold Steel would have been a lot better if it was 3 games. Condense 1 and 2 into a game and a half then 3 and 4 into a game and a half. The ending of CS2 is the midpoint of the second game.

Anyway Cold Steel 1-3 are really good, but 4 is apparently the weakest of the Cold Steel series.

As much as I kinda downplay Cold Steel the boss fight in the 4th game when this plays is probably my favorite moment of all the Trails games.

This is the point where everything goes off the rails. In typical Falcom fashion all this is a tease. They never get into the deep stuff in CS4 and I doubt Hajimari is going to address it either. I pray Kuro gets into that crazy stuff but I'm expecting it to be kinda a reset so maybe not.

Falcom honestly doesn't have it in their budget. Imo after coming from the look of Cold Steel just a port of Zero and Azure might sell very underwhelmingly. They would have to remake these games and at that point, it is not worth it. We are already two games behind with Hajimari and Kuro (releasing this year). Personally I rather them focus on localizing these 2 first.

The consensus from Falcom fans is that the Geofront patches for the Crossbell games are on par with the translations NISA has provided.
