Saying something has poor writing because you didn't like it is inaccurate. You just don't like the direction something went in like someone could easily say the writing in GTA SA is "poor" when in reality they just have hangups over the characters and story direction. I just see people divisive over Abby and Joel's death and concluding the game is overall wack.Excusing the poor writing is lame. Obvious favoritism going on. you call me a R*fan yet i always say GTA V is WOAT in almost every aspect and killed R* for the time being.
I do think SA had a poor story. The expansive map and customization / RPG elements is what made that game good. On topic, Abby is being shoehorned in the story and forces the player to like her. Poor execution. Of thats what they wanted to do then TLOU2 should've been Abby from start to finish (Teen-late teens) without mentioning her father gets killed by Joel and end the game with her as an adult, setting the stage for her to kill joel in TLOU3. They would've gotten everyone to love abby that way.Saying something has poor writing because you didn't like it is inaccurate. he doesn't want to believe thisGameplay/mechanics/graphics were dope .. story was a letdown
They could’ve done a better job fleshing her out a lil bit but overall they did a good job.People getting angry about playing as Abby is very interesting because we've never seen discourse around "I don't want to spend time with and play as this character because he/she pissed me off".
Videogames aren't like movies or TV where you're always chaperoned from one character / scene to the next. You feel all the dread, anger, sadness, and successes the characters feel because they force you to live as them and stew as them, literally walking in their shoes. You're forced to assume attachment because you're invested in their survival through every gunfight or brawl. ND taking advantage of the videogame medium and emotionally manipulating the audience is a thorough ass move. I think most players felt discomfort having to play as Abby moments after she kills Jesse, but that's the whole point. At first you're thinking fukk this bytch, until you slowly get to understand her character.

i completely forgot about this....smhFunny thing, I couldn’t even tell whether Lev was a boy or a girl, and didn’t assume or care one way or the other until they said Lilly, then it all clicked that the whole thing was a subplot itself![]()
Lev is a boy I assume? In the ending he definitely looked like a boy once he had more hair. I was like why they calling this boy Lily?Funny thing, I couldn’t even tell whether Lev was a boy or a girl, and didn’t assume or care one way or the other until they said Lilly, then it all clicked that the whole thing was a subplot itself![]()

nah he's a she. At one point with abby the scars call her lily and he asked "did she hear what they called him and if he wanted to talk about it" during the game you find out he was suppose to be married when she/he wanted to be a solider and fight like his sister. Basically "she" shaves her head takes up the name lev.Lev is a boy I assume? In the ending he definitely looked like a boy once he had more hair. I was like why they calling this boy Lily?![]()
When they talk about Lev being outcast for shaving his head and how instead of a soldier he was set to be someones wife it's all to clue you in that Lev is a girl named Lily who shaved her head and started acting like a boy and was banished for it.Lev is a boy I assume? In the ending he definitely looked like a boy once he had more hair. I was like why they calling this boy Lily?![]()

The "Agenda" would simply be Joel or another male character in the game being bi-sexual or gay and that being the big twist. And here in lies the problem with the game, there wasn't a single plot or sub plot in the game that wasn't tied to gender, sex, religion or sexuality.
ellie and dina = get revenge (whoops I'm pregnant by jesse)
Ellie Jesse dina = go get tommy who's wife was against him going and he loses her over.
Abby owen mel= revenge love triangle
Lev yara = gender and religion
Soo people who picked up on that... I totally understand them feeling like the game went hardball with agenda. The 1st managed to skip all that and delivered a great story.
