Why so late now? I can't really see what they'll do in a remaster that's different from the 60fps patched version out now. I'd think they would do more than slap a 4K mode on there and call it a day.

This is what they could/might do with the directors cut (I doubt they do all of this)
Option to play the story without flashbacks
Option to play in chronological order starting from the flashbacks
Option to play in alternating order (Ellie day 1, then Abby day 1 etc)
Extra optional dialogue
Extra Lore/notes (think the ship story, more of that scattered throughout the game)
Option to have loot in cars lol
Extra cutscenes and encounters cut from the game (I think Neil and Halley said in a podcast there were a lot of things cut last minute that was completely finished, and could have been in the game).
Extra things you can do in Jackson/Explore more of Jackson
QOL improvements (way faster load times)
Even more acceptability options
Ray Tracing
Native 4K (doubt it’s 4k 60 unless rt is off)
Redone haptic feedback made for the duelsense
I assume the main reason for this though would be to bring it to PC. TLOU2 on PC would look incredible. I think they release it way before season 2 of the show (they aren’t filming until late next year I think, and they said that before the writers strike). They probably want to launch it with Factions 2 but Bungie told them nah.

This game definitely deserved all the awards. Peak NaughtyDog gaming.
Kinda happy I played the after the hype but damn did it deserved it.
Story was a rollercoaster.
Playing it on the PS5 with the 60fps patch was so smooth too. Excellent gaming.

You got the best experience
What they need is their own mercenaries mode like RE. Sometimes I just want to play the action sections. Without going through the story again. Imagine the multiple maps, challenges, and characters they can use.
Not quite what you want, but You can replay all of the action/combat sections from the main menu if you didn’t already know
