Man I'm watching people play the game and I'm just thinking, this shyt is not gonna go over well on TV :russ:

Most gamers I've seen play it through love the story after getting over the initial shock.. But bruh, if they do what they're supposed to in say the second episode of the season??? I can't wait:russ:

I see a lot of people say they stopped watching TWD after Glenn's death but shidddd

TLOU2 -

I think tv audiences are more mature than gaming audiences. You can tell by the outrage of casting around ellie and all the other shyt people complain about non-stop online and how none of it mattered once it aired to the general public. Especially episode 3, it was like a night and day difference with the response from gaming circles and the response from the general public and now awards

The reason people started hating TWD is simply because the show just started to suck. I was a big TWD fan and the show just got worse and worse after they killed Glen. That’s not really the case for TLOU, they have a very straight forward and final conclusion to this part of the story. Add a high body count and more infected and i bet most people will like it more than the first season

I hope so bro..

That shyt is just going to be so jarring to an audience that really only saw those two for a whole season..

Add in the brutal way in which its going to be done likely

The episode after the deed is done is going to be super important to keep the audience I think.. People love Pedro Pascal

I wouldn’t be surprised if most people spoiled it for themselves already. The show was too big and the games sales spiked like crazy since.

But I agree that Bella Ramsey is gonna have her work cut out for her in terms of carrying this show. I’m glad the season got delayed cause of the strike, maybe she’ll sprout a bit more or hit the gym

I read TWD and didn’t fw dumpster-gate, so I wasn’t shocked and was actually glad Glenn caught it. They lost me with the dumb ass cliffhanger

I don’t think people will react like goofy ass gamers on this one, but as I’m pretty far removed from the game at this point, I wonder if they take the opportunity to shore up the pacing a bit. Or switch up the timeline a bit to (imo) tell a better story. Maybe follow Abby from the beginning to 🏌️‍♀️ instead of emulating Ellie’s emotion to the audience, with the lack of info on why it happened initially.

They definitely have a lot to work with as far as the structure goes. The actual story is fine, its how they go about adapting the split timeline that feels like the most challening part

I can’t imagine season 2 is mostly ellie and season 3 is just mostly abby

My ideal setup in hindsight would have been them staying in this marketing lane all the way up to the game release:

Set it up to look like an anthology series, with no mention on Ellie or Joel. Then, you start the game/show with Abby, and build Joel up to be her villain organically

I wouldn’t mind that, but that scene with joel and tommy in the beginning is so good.

Playing the games back to back and ending with the lie and opening with Joel telling Tommy about the lie is :banderas:

It just sort of ties everything together nicely and sets up where the story is going to go based off that

This could honestly just be the first trailer/teaser for season 2

I’m still way overdue for that PS5 playthrough. I never even felt 60 frames

The rebel in me wants them to say fukk it and tell the story with the same structure as the game lol

But yeah it's hard to see them splitting the seasons with Ellie and Abby

I did see somewhere that they basically picked their Abby right as the strike started so there's that :ehh:

I think season 2 of the Tv show will take different approaches but have the same outcomes in the end (for the most part). Pedro Pascal will probably appear in a few episodes. Remember Part 2 will be split into two seasons.

To throw people off right at the start of season 2. I would make the episode focus on Ellie for most of it to prepare people (lol). Do something like have her go on a supply run with Jessie, and Dina. Only scene Joel has in the episode is when he talks to Jessie to tell him where not to go, and to please protect Ellie. They go throughout the whole episode scavenging, get hemmed up, caught in a quick snowstorm, Jessie & Dina’s arguing the entire time etc. They get separated. Ellie’s on her own for a bit. End the episode with Ellie in danger (after Joel told Jessie to protect her lol). The credits roll, but there’s an after credits scene.

It’s this pretty dark haired woman, and this blonde guy in this small looking hut. The blonde guy is saying how they should return home. They’re lost, the snowstorm would have killed them if they didn’t find shelter, and that It’s too dangerous out here. But the dark haired girl gets angry and storms off. The guy yells “meet me back at the ranch”. At the very end of the after credits scene. The dark haired woman hears a scream for help (it’s Ellie). She walks away at first, but then she stops, and decides to go towards the scream. And that’ll end the episode.

Episode 2’s cold opening the dark haired woman saves Ellie. They fight off a small horde together then they take Ellie’s horse to the dark haired lady’s hideout (the ranch). Jessie & Dina are there. Ellie explains what happened and how the dark haired woman saved her life. Ellie asks the lady what’s her name. And she says her name is Abby. Then cue the opening credits, and go on from there.

Abby’s og concept art:

Basically have the show have a mix of what they originally planned for the game, and still keep some things from the final script of the game. But have some situations/characters switch up sometimes. Like how I wrote above that Abby saved Ellie. In the game it’s the same except Tommy & Joel saved Abby.

Like the og script. Have Abby be bought into Jackson to restock, trade, and what not. But really being there to find, and kill Joel. They could mention Joel has a love interest like they had originally planned. But there were people saying that the love interest would have been Abby. I would scrap that part (like ND did).

End episode 2 with the party scene from the game. The only difference is Abby is also there at that party. While Ellie’s macking on Dina (who broke up with Jessie earlier). Have Abby follow, and eavesdrop Tommy all party to see if he leads her to Joel. Cut back to Ellie & Dina and the infamous kiss scene. The bigot guy does what he did in the game, and Joel shoves him in Ellie’s defense (like in the game). The party comes to a screeching halt, and after Ellie says “I don’t need your fukkking help Joel”. Joel walks away, they show Ellie’s face like in the game, but then they blur her face and focus on Abby, who’s right behind her. Now she has a visual of Joel.

Episode 3 I don’t have any Ideas how, but episode 3 Joel dies. Maybe Abby offers herself and the WLF to go on a supply run with Tommy & Joel (as a least they could do for Tommy & Maria inviting them to the wonderful party the night before). At some point they end up back at that ranch. They turn on them and just like the game Ellie gets worried and looks for Joel & Tommy with Dina & Jessie. Ellie says they were with those settlers. Maybe they went to that ranch. Then they make their way there and it goes as it does in the game. Except Dina & Jessie are there to.
