I'm avoiding spoilers like a motherfukker and even though I wont try to convince anyone to play this game if they read the leaks and don't even wanna touch TLOU 2, I'll never understand why people that have played ND games (and specially TLOU) have been so easily swayed to not playing it just because they read an outline of the story.
Execution is the key to anything that is story driven. Can you imagine reading spoilers about Empire Strikes Back?. After all the hype for the Star Wars sequel, leaks come out and read like:
-Luke goes to a swamp planet and trains with a green dwarf alien puppet that talks backwards and lifts an X-Wing with his mind.
-There's a new main villain, an old dude that you don't see his face. He's the real leader of the Empire.
-Han Solo is turned into stone.
-Vader is Luke's father. He cuts Luke's hand after a lightsaber battle.
That sounds like the shyttiest sequel ever that craps on everything that made the first movie great. But the execution of it was masterful and ended up being a classic flick.
Now, on the other side you have stuff like the leaks for GOT's last season or Star War's last movie. They sounded awful and the execution was fukking garbage so it was a fukking disaster.
I honestly have no clue if this game will be awesome or a shyt show. But there's way more stuff than a leaked story to based judgment on it. Specially when you weigh in other important shyt in a video game like gameplay.
I'll gladly wait 1 more month and see what ND has for us
