And can someone explain what this "compiling shaders" thing is?
Basically running code that tells your specific GPU how to render the game. It can run in the background during the game, and take up resources, or it can be run before you start the game, to free up more resources during the game.

Damn, i think you’re gonna enjoy. It
I just don't understand what's soooo demanding with these tiny level compare to RE4. Just a travesty that ND try to dollar general this port. I think at most... A 2080ti should be able to run this game at Ultra. I guess something is terribly wrong with the asset pipeline or rendering overhead.

aka we don't care, this is extra money for us anyway as we never even dreamed of releasing this game on PC, we'll fix it when we fix it :mjlol:

This is probably a case of the TV show being a huge hit, and them realizing that they need to have a PC version of the game out to tap into the audience that just isn't going to get a console.

they announced the PC version long before the show came out

Right, I mean like wanting it out in a certain window of the show instead of optimizing it before dropping it aka just delaying it for a bit.

they did delay it. it was originally supposed to come out at the beginning of March. but I do think they knew about these issues, and pushed the game out anyway, possibly to not miss some kind of 'hype window'

but at the same time I doubt they anticipated it was so bad that they would end up 'mostly negative' on Steam

Ah ok yeah in that case it makes sense they didn't want to delay it again all things considered
