This the type of shyt yall want ? :dead:

the only risk they pose is possibly throwing out your shoulder, about as dangerous as chopping weeds

:mjlol:
We have AT LEAST a year and a half of nikkas crying over “action”, Ellie’s teenage face, and “agenda” buzzwords.

Also tears over spoilers…And of course my special education, holding hands as a class to walk to lunch as a HS freshmen, star stickers for grades, face ass nikkas who thought the show was supposed to be about the infected instead the story of Joel and Ellie.

I’m about to run through part 2 for like the fifth time and forget this thread exists until season 2 production rumors start trickling down.

My only dislike was that Joel didn’t kill the nurses too.

Yea, she went thru a lot of shyt...........further proving she aint in the right mind to make the decision anyway :sas2:
All that happened in a span of like 8 months. Let's not act like she some child soldier. :manny:
Also :salute: to you and @tru_m.a.c
:salute:to you as well breh

If she isn't in the right mind to make that decision, why give her the choice to stop or continue right before they reached the hospital then?
Why not let her wake up when Joel had already killed every threat and Marlene gave him the chance to do so when she said it was not too late and put her gun down?
Why not inform Ellie that he took that decision for her after the deed was done?

Yall can't get reduce Joel's actions to be those of this noble selfless protector and disregard how he put his wants and needs over hers, just like the Fireflies.

And the fact that all that trauma happened in a year or was spread out doesn't change the result for Ellie, who I must point out was taught how to handle a gun to protect herself and others from monsters and humans and put that shyt to work, just like a child soldier. She's every bit of a child soldier :gucci: Not to mention she grew up in an area where terrorist attacks by the Fireflies were a weekly thing and her classes consisted in learning how to kill them :gucci: She's a child soldier for sure

The moment he killed everyone in the hospital he knew it was “too late” and so did Marlene. I’m still not convinced whatsoever that Marlene was actually offering him a peaceful solution. As others pointed out she just didn’t want to risk Ellie inadvertently getting shot so she was trying to talk Joel down, just like you talk down people who have hostages before you shoot them. Wasn’t nobody going to wait for Ellie to wakeup so they could give her the choice the Fireflies NEVER INTENDED to give her in the first place. Plus Marlene was a treacherous bytch when it came to Ellie, that had already been proven to us the audience and Joel when she confessed she knew Ellie since she was a baby.

The other stuff you wrote has merit. Joel didn’t give Ellie a choice either, he made a parent’s decision and parents often don’t give their children a choice, especially when it comes to life or death matters. Like I said I wouldn’t have given my daughter a choice either I would have done everything Joel did except MAYBE I would have told her afterwards. I’m 50/50 on that.

:russ:i don't find john wick movies entertaining at all.

and i feel like the ones who didnt like TLOU2 try to bark louder than the ones that did. imo the 2nd game was better in every way. folks dont like the game because their white hero died

Part 2 story sucked but I think it'll do well for TV

Their doctor was murdered and it's unlikely the nurses would have been able to perform the procedure. That means that even if Marlene somehow got Ellie back at this moment, she would have had to travel part of the country with her to another Firefly base equipped with a doctor or try to find a brand new one.

And since Joel had murdered her whole crew in Salt Lake City and she specified herself that she barely survived the trip even with a personal guard of 5 soldiers... She has no chance of making it with Ellie alive back to another base, without Terminator Joel.

So what I'm thinking she was trying to do is convince Joel that it was Ellie's wish so he would escort them to a new base. That necessarily implies Ellie waking up at some point and confirming whether she's ok with sacrificing herself or not, which is something Marlene was willing to bet on (and it seems clear that Joel knew as well what would be Ellie's decision knowing her heavy survivor's guilt).

Now don't get me wrong; that doesn't mean Joel's rampage would have necessarily be pardoned anyway. I don't think Marlene was thinking about Joel when she said it wasn't too late. She might still have him murked as soon as she had the occasion.

But that doesn't change the bottomline that for Joel, at this specific point, there was an opportunity for deescalation and getting Ellie's opinion if really that was on this mind at all. He had Marlene at gun point as she surrendered her weapon.

Now I perfectly understand Joel not taking that chance, just like he didn't take any chance murdering even surrendering enemies; but if he's justified in doing so, then the Fireflies are too in not allowing him to talk to Ellie or letting her wake up before the surgery. They were following the exact same logic: not taking any chance.

As a proud member of #GirlDad affiliated, I do admit the themes of TLOU do hit different

How am I supposed to believe 20 years later a rag tag bunch of people
1- after 20 years of no innovation, got the technology to make a cure
2- got the infrastructure to mass produce it
3-will be able to convince enough people to actually take it

We saw with covid in real time nikkas had to bust they ass to make a vaccine and mass produce it and nikkas still wouldn’t take it :dead:

Now imagine trying to make a cure for something like cordyceps with windows 95 ass technology in 2023 :dead:

Me and baby girl would be eatin s’mores watchin reruns of living single with the rest of them in Jackson. I’ll let y’all nikkas try to convince the David and Kathleen’s of the world not to eat or murder y’all cause y’all allegedly got a cure

:hubie:

A cure wouldn't have done shyt for Kansas City after it was freed

Before the infected attacked they were doing and allowing fukked up shyt to each other....

And although the show doesn't do it - in the game they tried ELEVEN TIMES BEFORE with ppl that were found to be immune ...and they killed the people each time

And of course Marlene makes the best case for why Joel made the right choice ...whats the point of getting a cure when you could STILL be killed by raiders or torn apart by infected ....

The fact that Marlene lied and manipulated everyone to get Ellie there only reinforces that fact that shes WAY more evil than even David ...

A person lies to a child they took a vow to take care of and is about to murder her ( and him ) after doping her up .... and dudes are like but Joel is bad for deciding that she aught to be alive instead of the 12th time they tried to do the same shyt they failed at 11 times before ...

I’m not implying that the Fireflies weren’t “Justified” in their initial thinking. BOTH sides failed to give Ellie the full truth of that we agree. I just side with Joel’s reasons over Marlene and the Fireflies.

And Marlene was absolutely INSANE if she thought Joel, even if Ellie woke up and said “Take me to the nearest firefly camp and let them remove my brain in the name of SCIENCE!” Would ACTUALLY have done so. Thats why I think the scene itself should have played out differently. The series didn’t do enough to establish any type of real relationship or understanding between Joel and Marlene where her pleading would have meant anything to him. The episode actually makes Marlene come off worse morally than Joel as Marlene knew Ellie as a newborn and basically abandoned her with the same “oppressive” government that both her and presumably her mother were fighting against. Marlene came off like a villain.

Not true... They specifically say they tried on people that have been infected, not immune, and reiterate that Ellie's immunity is some shyt that has NEVER been seen before
