I used melee wayyy more as Abby despite them being functionally the same
Ellie with that struggle switchblade meanwhile Abigail Knight snuffing people and choking them out with her biceps

man I fukked with Abby & she was completely justified
I actually don’t mind TLoU Part II’s story, I will agree it could’ve been told better.
I feel like Naughty Dog gave Abby the short end of the stick with the way she is introduced.
I also don’t like the “Because they didn’t give you what you wanted” narrative, it feels like a deflection from legitimate criticism.
to this day i've yet to hear a convincing argument as to why the story 'sucks'. Like i can see criticisms for pacing, or criticisms for the split narrative or both. But none of those things make the story suck. If the story sucks because ellie didn't kill abby, well whatever, you didn't like it but that doesn't mean it wasn't well written. There are zero games on this planet aside from RDR2 that have character stories written on this level, there just isn't.
I wouldn’t use “convincing” more like fair or well thought out, and I’ve seen quite a few fair critiques of the story even though I may disagree with them. I mean it’s all subjective at the end of the day, there are people that believe that the last three seasons of Game of Thrones were well written.
It was about getting Eli to the fireflies. She was the cure to making the world back normal. And Eli couldn't have been the only one that was immune. Instead of looking for somebody else that was willing to risk , they gave up. They ditched the entire premise and told a story that had nothing to do with be world, the disease, and the infected. As I said prior, I can point to several good unbiased sources that all say the story was bad.
TLOU2 is an underrated masterpiece. The pacing is off, at times, but it is truly a masterstroke of fame design in how it uses perspective.
I understand why it can seem jarring and piss people off but it actively forces you to rethink your stance by simply providing a bit more perspective about the situation.
Most of the best zombie media uses the infected as more of “setting” to juxtapose with the human threat. What more do they need to do with the Infected that would improve the story? They’re used as an existential threat.
Nothing to do with the world? The entire premise and inciting incident of TLOU2 was Joel’s decision from the TLOU. As far as most of that population knows, there is no real cure and that’s how Joel wanted it. He sacrificed the possibility of a cure due to his desire to save Elle.
So they chose to build on Tommy’s ideal of creating a civilization/society in this new world (A continuation of seeds set by Tommy from TLOU1).
Literally, the entirety of TLOU2 is building on the themes and world from the first.
only if it is a woman, they don't want us alpha black men to shineTLOU3 is going to center around her and probably another character (hopefully black to piss off the neckbeards)
Ellie idk since they made her useless at the end
Neil loves Abby
