No way it was the last great action movie. Maybe Arnold's but we still had The Rock, Heat, and Face Off in the 90's.

I was a lil ass kid when they used to have all them drive-ins and I vaguely remember being at the True Lies/Speed double feature. Action-adventure used to rule the summer.

A little known tidbit, True Lies plot was going to be pretty much Goldeneye's direction which was in production for release the following year.
The Broccolis revised their script after the fact not to copy Cameron's story.
I remember reading that around that time.
