I hate that I have to ask this question...but was Blackplanet black owned?

Sadly, a lot of times, even entities marketed directly towards us, are white owned.

I think I read that that "black people meet" dating site was white owned...:upsetfavre:

I would love to use black-social networking. We could use our own video-site as well. Youtube is a cess-pool of racism.

The company that owns black planet (Radio one) is owned by a black female. Too bad nobody uses it any more.


Amazon shouldnt even be on that list since they probably counting warehouse workers.

The arguments made in the article are quite poor imo, they fail to convince me of any sort of problem. the benefits of diversity talking-point is built on faulty logic. Members of a race are not exclusively homogeneous in thought or experiences. Just the notion that all races are so instinctively alike that you have to mix-and-match the work place by race is highly offensive to me.

His other point about the numbers of black engineers being less than the number of black twitter users as hard evidence of a hiring problem is nonsensical. Number one priority for a business when it comes to hiring is skillsets, and if racial groups are unequal with that desired skillset than you shouldn't expect any sort of equal representation within that company especially when these groups are all competing for a limited amount of positions. I don't see what's so hard to grasp about that fact.

I think the most upsetting thing I read in this article though is the implication that twitters hiring routing is unequal to minorities because it demands that they meet the same standards as Whites and Asians. Like fam really got me tight when he said it was a low moment for him when his boss said we cant lower the bar for blacks.

Bullshyt. They just don't want to hire minorities. Blacks and Latinos are smart enough to make split second trades for millions of dollars on Wall Street but, not smart enough to write code for silly apps. Get real.
