I thought it was wack when it dropped cause it didn't hold a candle to the og matrix... didn't watch it since it dropped.... did a rewatch back to back with the OG and :banderas:... classic.. only held back by the ending that was tied to the next movie. also I didn't even watch revolutions until a year ago :heh:
As an action movie its better. I also think the set up for Revolutions was solid. 3rd movie just disappointed all round and since the second was tied to it it was considered retroactively worse.

To be honest, I watched again yesterday and the 2nd and 3rd were perfectly fine. They were action films and the script and meaning of the film was really meta and not easy to comprehend.

Once I got older, watched Animatrix and Enter the Matrix cut scenes, then it all made a lot more sense.

I actually feel bad for rubbishing the films originally.
Hmm maybe I need to rewatch those then cuz I don’t understand the 2nd or 3rd

:dwillhuh:

The Matrix franchise printed money in the late 90’s and 00’s

it’s been a long time, long enough for people to miss it, and It’s a solid IP. Why wouldn’t they make another one after 15 years?

Come on fam it was generally considered disappointed in real time back then. I thought it was ok, which is kinda what most people felt. Meh to ok, some thought it was trash. Regardless it wasn't close to the first one. Too masturbatory and exhausting.
The scene with the Architect in Reloaded was brutal to sit through
