:pacspit: at them lames.

I wasn't always making the right choices in life but when I turned 16 one thing I promised myself is that is I would get a job. And I did, was there for two years. Started as a cashier and ended up in the pharmacy :wow:

At my current job I'm a manager. So I don't get this shyt when young nikkas make it seem like it's hard to find a job. Most of them don't even know what a cover letter is or how to write one. They think because they have no work history they don't need it or a resume.

I see this shyt all the time: nikka fill out hella apps and then complain that nobody called them back. I learnt early you gotta make that first contact, otherwise you just a name in a stack of papers. I hate to preach but the shyt is disgusting. nikkas put so much effort into bs but can't even put in the effort to get a fukking job.

as and elder statesmen of the-coli, I actually had a job before the internet age. as a kid who was in high school in the mid 90's, I actually had to go to places and fill out paper apps with the hopes of getting hired in person. none of that internet shyt we have now. I ended up having a job at a grocery store for the last 2 years of high school.

Apps never worked for me, I got my first job through a conversation...after that I have always had a contact or strong reference in every place that I have walked into. Its all I know and it's how i'll keep doing it

man these young nikkas dont even understand having to actually hustle in this world. man, I have had some really shytty jobs. comcast customer service being the worst working 2nd shift when I had a newborn baby at home.

now I'm 35, got a job with a fortune 500, where I work at the crib everyday, and I feel like I earned it, cuz I paid my dues working plenty of bad jobs in the past.

my old man who's been retired since like 2003 told me he's never had a resume in his life. he's always gotten jobs thru word of mouth. then he told me half-joking, he was looking for a gig, yet still never wanted to do a resume :russ:

I assume he was full of shyt about looking for a job, cuz he still never did a resume or looked for a job :yeshrug:

my parents still got a roof over they head, taking vacations, and not working, so I assume they are doing good over there.

these young nikkas are caught up with what others will think of them if they work at burger king or clean toilets for a living. especially the opinions of broke women and uppity women out here..

this internet shyt got these nikkas caught thinking they are rappers, owners of labels, boss bytches base off a bullshyt facebook or twitter accounts they created and some club pics with a few strippers

Oh i'm absolutely building a strong resume. What i'm saying is I've never submitted a resume without a contact within the organization already. I'm 26 and its tough out here....i'm not willing to fight fair. By the time I submit a resume, its just a formality.

not only that, they think they are supposed to have the caliber of job that you or I have despite the fact we have been in the workforce for 20 years now :rudy:

when I was in college, I hustled my way into a paid internship to a fortune 100 company who not only paid me, but gave me experience on the job, and provided me credits for working. I didn't know it then, but it was :win: in every facet of life at the time.

as for these young fools, they are stupid. you make almost no money hustling on the corner. I have said this a million times that cats at mcdonalds and white castle make more money per hour than these fools. plus assume no risk from being outside with fluctuating sales and they get to eat for free. but they insist on playing checkers and not chess.
