Sounding like the same situation that played out with Fletch last year. Technically "released" him to go see what his value was but he almost immediately came back when the numbers looked funny.

Cox is making what 5, or 6 mil? Guys with half his production last year are getting way more money this offseason

He got $10 mil , last yr he got $14 mil so I guess it's not that bad. Maybe next year he'll get 6 mil
I guess I'm irked that the Eagles aren't in a position to finally move on. Like them bringing Cox back is a signal the younger guys aren't ready to step in his place

I thought I saw he signed for 6. Yeah 10 is a lil much for what should be more of a depth guy this year
