Most in predraft wanted MPJ to go to Chicago or NYK. In fact, Knicks fans chanted Michael-Porter-Jr so it wasn't like this logic is Jokic going in the 2nd round where no one knew who he was and he didn't come to the NBA till this 2nd year.

Still, you drafted a bust because he was better 1v1 versus Mikal Bridges who is a much better Basketball player. Talent is important but realized potential is a lot more valuable. Knox doesn't have much-realized potential. His potential was always limited and his floor is low. He should have been drafted 15-24 range where risks are less risky.

I even remember the rumor of the bulls having given promises to MPJ and that SF they took at 21 or 24.

That being said, 13 other teams passed on MPJ too. You can't even say whether he would have had the same success playing for the Knicks since Denver is clearly the better much organization and consistently drafted + developed talent well in the last decade. I'm also sure MPJ is getting better usage in Malone's offense than he would have had in Fizdale's hands.
