Didn’t he go 13-14th? A lot of teams messed up. His back was a major red flag. Look at Ben Simmons.
Ben Simmons is one of the best players in the NBA. I'll take five years of Simmons over 2-3 NBA seasons of Knox till he's in the G-League.

People are saying that a lot of teams passed on Porter as an excuse for the Knicks.

Yes. But you know what kind of teams should take a gamble on an elite talent with a health concerns? Bum teams like the Knicks who don't have a top 5 pick.
The risk was high but the reward was through the roof.

If you have the #1 pick, you can't afford to blow it on a guy with back problems.
If you have the #9 pick, and you have the chance to take a guy who...when healthy...would almost definitely be a Top 2 pick...that's a risk you have to take.

Bridges would be far more helpful. Breh is an impact player. If ya'll had him, ya'll might be in a top 3 seed even with the injuries. The pick of MIA helped ya'll get Tobi so it wasn't all bad.

Not a Philly fan btw. The Tobi/Butler trades are a whole different fukk up in and of themselves as they whiffed on picking Fultz over Tatum. Worst part was everyone knew who Boston really wanted and Philly still fell for it.

That's what I am saying. I understand the Knicks ain't patience and they are trash but a chance at MPJ who has elite talent, I don't see how you pass on that for Kevin Knox, then again, I don't see how you pass on Mikal Bridges for Kevin Knox, even at that time.

This isn't the best time to make this thread, given that MPJ nearly lost the Nuggets a playoff game, only moments ago.

Fultz shyt was simply unfortunate but that trade was appalling.

Understood. But there's almost no conceivable way that Kevin Knox approaches even half of Porter's upside.
At this point in the game, we know who Knox is. I'd argue everyone knew it even then...comparing the prospects

Everyone's conveniently forgetting that MJP was a huge gamble and would've turned into a quadriplegic had Knicks drafted him :manny:
True but Knox doesn't have the mental capacity to be a NBA Basketball player. Which one was more of a risk? Porter Jr. just needed to be healthy, Knox simply needed to be in the G-league and pray that the game comes to him in time.

All I’m saying is hindsight is 20/20. The best ability is availability.
