Completely agree. They totally fukked this show for putting it on fukking cinemax. This should've been an HBO show. Dat Cliff Martinez score was fukkingThe first season is possibly the single greatest season of television drama ever made.
I'd love to see anyone try and disagree.

Westworld had a great first season but it's not touching The Knick, breh. The first season is one of the very, very few seasons in TV history that I would call perfect.

You know sometimes it's better to be a brilliant show that had a great, albeit brief run than to run dry and become average, ala Boardwalk Empire.I'm ok with the show ending, especially since they took the focus off of Algernon, as he was just as interesting as Thackery, tackling being a Black doctor in racist azz 19th century NY.

As a big fan of the show, I'm okay with not coming back. The 2nd season really ended on a definitive end for most of the characters and I think Soderbergh was done directing it or moved on to another project(s). His direction, along with the actors really made the show stand out.
Probably best to let Cocaine Thack rest in peace.
