The Killzone series is officially dead

How much would it cost to buy the IP for a franchise like killzone and contract a company to have it remastered?

Remastering killzone 1/2 with killzone 2 multiplayer seems like a no brainer/easy money grab.

Killzone 2 was one of the funnest multiplayers ever and the entire franchise has some of the best FPS campaigns ever

I don’t think it works like that.

The most realistic possibility is ….

• Sony has another team like Nixxes or Bluepoint do a remaster/remake with advisement from Guerrilla
• Sony finds a 3rd party developer to contract the work out to, but it would still be published and owned by SIE
• Guerrilla Games decides they want to give the series another shot

there’s no cost or licensing fee that would make sense for sony to give the IP away for. The only way we get more Killzone is if it gets optioned for a tv show or movie. Which isn’t very likely because its not that interesting

Unless they completely change Killzone formula, it woudn't sell well. If it's a possibility to do a cheaper remake, they could do it in the future. Also this is coming from the studio, at the end of the day if they are not interested in making it, up to them

Horizon ain't even that good. And with the sequel being released over 2 years ago, how many sequels they gonna do? They need to go back to Killzone.

It’s one of many generic 7th gen doo doo brown FPS “Halo Killer’s” that had its time. It doesn’t need to be constantly discussed as some golden relic of the past. Yall can’t name one character from that series

Shadowfall was the killzone killer.

With all the damn remakes Sony is pushing out, I'm surprised they haven't made a Killzone 2 remake. That and Socom are the only remakes I care about.
