Yeah let's continue to switch, even when we aren't necessarily force to because Horford does a much better job against Curry than Smart does. And again the "screens" being set didn't even require Smart to fight through it. DPOY should man up and take the assignment and Ime shouldn't be stubborn to a scheme that is getting him beat.

The Celtics did not lose this series because they played bad defense, I don’t know why that’s so hard for y’all to accept :dead:

Warriors in the RS: 111.0 PPG, 46.9 FG%, 112.5 ORTG
Warriors vs. DEN: 118.0 PPG, 51.5 FG%, 123.1 ORTG
Warriors vs. MEM: 111.0 PPG, 45.9 FG%, 109.8 ORTG
Warriors vs. DAL: 115.2 PPG, 51.8 FG%, 123.9 ORTG
Warriors vs. BOS: 104.8 PPG, 44.6 FG%, 110.8 ORTG

Was the defense perfect? No, there were areas they could’ve improved on. But overall they did a good job. They lost because of their offense. Because their #1 option had one of the worst shooting performances ever, they turned the ball over at an all-time rate and they got little to no production from the bench.

The warriors won because they are the better defensive team?

Numbers aside i think the C's defense was uneven,in some moments it was elite and in some moments it was awful....there was alot of stretches in the last 2 games there D was terrible and wasnt resisting......

Celtics lost G5 because they missed 10 free throws, had 18 turnovers, Jaylen Brown had arguably his worst game of the playoffs, and they got nothing from the bench. Not to mention Tatum’s 4th quarter airballs

Game 6 was lost on that 21-0 run which was bad defense but even worse offense.

Again, I’m not saying that the Celtics played perfect defensively, this was far from a 04 Pistons clinic. But this was the Warriors lowest scoring series since the 2016 Finals. They played good enough defense overall to win the series, it’s their offense that wasn’t up to par. Part of that is their low IQ play and the other is the Warriors credit.

Agreed Celtics played well defensively most the outside of G2 and G5. Watching G5 live, seemed like they got more aggressive blitzing Steph after his big Game 4, and he bad night statistically because of it but way too many easy opportunities for others. GS role players bricked a ton of open looks that game otherwise it would've been a blowout

They struggled both shooting and getting stops in the 4th those final three games and GS routinely does that to teams in the playoffs. Even if you playing great defense and getting stops in the halfcourt, they still make everyone work hard possession after possession. You get tired, you start turning it over and start missing shots you normally make

Thought Boston would struggle with that as the series wore on because they had to go thin 7 man rotation including Williams who been visibly hobbled all playoffs, or they gotta play Pritchard and Theis who are major defensive liabilities against GS and they can't really hide because Boston always switch

Udoka did a good job overall far as strategy, GS is just built to take advantage of thin rotations and they kill you in transition off turnovers, and those are Boston's only real weaknesses. Of course Tatum had a bad series, and what percentage of that was fatigue, good defense and just being overwhelmed by the moment, hard to say but they needed him to play a lot better to win
