Damn.......yall sounding like me...
This is hilarious ....I know of this shyt too... That shyt turns into a fukking party weekend comparable to some college prom or something...not even on a NSBE or something. Even black MBA weekend might have more networking than the CBC weekendHere's the CBC for you in a nutshell:
I live in DC. The only time we (the general public, urban, black professional) even hear about CBC is in September, where they have this thing called CBC weekend.
Its basically like CIAA's, or NBA All Star or whatever BS weekend you guys have in your cities, where for like 4 days all these black "leaders" and "professionals" have big ass parties throughout the city and promoters make a killing.
I felt duped like 3 years ago, because I got invited to a bunch of events from knowing people in my business I started - so Im suited up, ready to rock with biz cards and elevator pitches, and get to like 2 events full of old rich ass (and of course my age and younger ppl too) suited and booted black ppl acting a fool. No work done whatseover.
It's basically a weekend for the capitol hill and ppl throughout the country who work in gov to be "cool" and be the rappers and celebs (and from what I saw, some of them are actually the celebs, but just not to me, becuase I know nothing about govt, as most ppl dont), complete with groupies, bottle service, wild parties, etc.
Scroll down this link, do these look like political parties to you ?
Edit:
Heres a random article I found about CBC Weekend:
My Week at the CBC Convention
its so crazyThey don't even support black candidates LOL
