unfortunately a lot of them were voted for because their black and representing black districts that are high in poverty and crime.Once elected are courted by corporations and rarely do anything for their districts other than show up for a protest and photo-ops. Black people that choose to vote need to educate themselves on collectively holding their elected officials accountable. You cannot ask and demand white officials to do things in your best interest when you haven't confronted the black official who represents you locally. Being black does not equate to caring about black people, and I hope us new generations of young adults leverage that than those who came before us.

These are the Blacks who are presidents of your HBCUs, Black Greek Orgs, and Churchs. They utilize existing Black Organizations that could be beneficial and create an old guard and serve as gate keepers/ eyes of the white supremacist to control what Black people can do. This is why you have so many organizations that fundamentally are good but are literally doing nothing. HBCUs,Black Greek Orgs, and Black Churches should be the Vanguard of the Black Community when it comes to creating infrastructure.

No these people aren't, at least not in the south. Most of these people have very little to do with HBCUs.

As for what they do, go look at the representatives and Congressmen of the MS Delta. They aren't doing anything for those people

Here's the CBC for you in a nutshell:

I live in DC. The only time we (the general public, urban, black professional) even hear about CBC is in September, where they have this thing called CBC weekend.

Its basically like CIAA's, or NBA All Star or whatever BS weekend you guys have in your cities, where for like 4 days all these black "leaders" and "professionals" have big ass parties throughout the city and promoters make a killing.

I felt duped like 3 years ago, because I got invited to a bunch of events from knowing people in my business I started - so Im suited up, ready to rock with biz cards and elevator pitches, and get to like 2 events full of old rich ass (and of course my age and younger ppl too) suited and booted black ppl acting a fool. No work done whatseover.

It's basically a weekend for the capitol hill and ppl throughout the country who work in gov to be "cool" and be the rappers and celebs (and from what I saw, some of them are actually the celebs, but just not to me, becuase I know nothing about govt, as most ppl dont), complete with groupies, bottle service, wild parties, etc.

Scroll down this link, do these look like political parties to you :stopitslime:?

Edit:

Heres a random article I found about CBC Weekend:

My Week at the CBC Convention

The Black Bourgeoisie love Day Parties, I hear DC is worst than ATL :mjlol:

Its crazy our HBCUs bring out so many people for Homecoming and we dont dedicate at least 1 day during that weekend to have a conference for building the community around the said school.
